A bunch of kids in a honda were coming out of side street onto the main road yaking and not even looking when they pulled out and I hit the mickey mouse horn they didn't hear it but luckily I leaned hard to the left WOT and barely missed their front end. That weak meep meep has got to go- almost comical. I don't see why Honda didn't put the VTX 1800 horn on it. That is as loudest MC horn I've ever heard- more than some vehicles. You people that have them know. I said all that to say this: I want to buy a stebel horn or similar and thinking about the Wolo Bad Boy at HF that supposed to be super loud. It's black so I'd want to hide it and any suggestions where to mount it? And if I went with the pretty chrome stebels , where to mount them. All recommendations about the horns and where to mount them will be appreciated!

Big BF Quads. I have the duals and I think they're loud enough. Quads would deafen me. (Not affiliated with Big BF in any way. Just a satisfied customer.)

There's a lot of good horns, and ideas of how to install them.
BigBF's horns come with Valkyrie specific installation brackets and instructions, you can't really see that they are there, and they are LOUD.

I had been having a lot of trouble with people cutting me off.
I finally got a pair of trumpets that blast out a high pitch 120 dB. Mounted them right up there at the crashbar.
There is a segment of our population that is not affected by loud horn. Even when the horns are 2 feet from their ears.
I am presently looking for something at least 30 dB louder. Trouble with this idea, that loud scares the breakfast out of the innocent people nearby.

Heard a lot of good things about BigBF's. For my standard, years ago I picked up an air horn set up at Auto Zone for about $25.00 and mounted it near the swingarm with the compressor behind the right side cover. I recently picked up a Stebel Ear Cannon for the IS and mounted it in the right pod. Ear Cannon's come in both black and chrome, 2 of my favorite colors. Here's a clip from someones before and after for your listening pleasure.
I had also gone with the handy a-la-carte wiring kit available for ease of install which ran in the mid $20's if memory serves me. I have still had people pull out in front of me and not respond appropriately to the blast due to whatev...

I bought some ugly extra loud horns at the local fleet store. I mounted them under the bike between the pipes, I am cheap. Ran them though a relay tripped by the beep beep horn wire. They would scare the soccer moms weaving into my lane on the cellphone so I figured they were loud enough.

Dodge Caravan horns. $8 at local junk yard. Some brackets and bolts from the local hardware store, a relay, electrical connectors and some wire and they mount (Using the caravan horn brackets too) to the frame under the bike ahead of the rear tire and swing arm. Have used them successfully in battle on a number of occasions.
Only significant issue is if my wife, or other rider for that matter, is on the back of the bike when I hit the horn button, they about launch themselves right off the back of the bike. Scares the hell out of folks.
Yes, they can hear me now.

I'd much rather them lose their breakfast than me lose my life! If you find one with 150 dbs let me know! The most I've found is 139 and I think it's the Wolo Bad boy but can't be sure since I've looked ay so many.

BigBF Quad mounted by swingarm, lift works with it mounted under there also.
It will definetly get someones attention.........
Has a squad car pull out in front and then drigt into my lane, gave him a long blast, he jerked it over and then red lighted me. Stopped, he asked what I had for a horn, told him, he looked at it and said eh was going to roder one for his Harley.
Whether he did or not, I have no idea.......

WOW They look loud!! At 132dbs X4, would that be 528 dbs???? decibels are a logarithmic scale... They don't add up that way... Mick Jagger screaming into the microphone is about 140 decibels, and a passenger jet at full throttle is about 160 decibels... there's no kind of horn we can put on our bikes that's louder than a passenger jet at full throttle http://www.coolmath.com/decibels1.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decibel-Mike

I had something similar except it was a deer that jumped in front of me. I decided to put 4 - 139db Steibel horns on the bike mounted under the bike between the pipes with a double sided relay @ 15 amps each side. Now, even the truckers take notice. I can be heard over 4 blocks away. The bike's lights actually dim if I hit the horn when the bike's not running. I bought them off ebay for $30 a pair. I bought the relay at a car parts store and 14ga wire. They are hooked directly to the battery and triggered by the original horn, which I left in place to play with their minds.

WOW 4?? Did you buy the Stebel Nautilus? There are many models of the Stebels. Thanks for sharing, I'll check ebay!

If you have an I/S, try the pods. A Stebel (Big Boy, whatever) fits into a pod quite nicely.

The horn from the 1800 is the loudest and fits perfectly. Not "tinny" or "plastically" like the others.
