Rode over to see my Great-Great Grand Father today . He was 32 years old when he dropped dead while holding my Grand Father in his arms  Sad  He is also who I'm named after.

Now.... That set of wheels will get you into shape... QUICKLY! Keep up the good work Joe...

You don't cover as much ground and it's a lot of hard work, but you will feel better once you get used to it.

My physical therapist is trying to kill me... He's been working me over trying to get me walking straight again and I fully believe he's trying to kill me slowly.... I have lost about 12 pounds though and I'm able to stand up straight again... until I get tired.

I need to get this sorted out so I can get my bike out and ride it again! Good Luck on that 2 wheeler!

Here's a picture of him that hangs in my house . He was in the Spanish-American War.

I wish you the best Doug I've had  back pain just about everyday for years mostly in the morning  Undecided  but its nothing like what you deal with . My ridin' buddy Lucky 13 has had back surgery a couple times and takes pills everyday for pain. I've hurt mine bad in the past and I know it will put you down . When you get better maybe we'll hook up for a ride  Cheesy

About 10 pounds ago I used to bring my mountain bike to work two or three times a week.
I work off campus, on the edge of the Clemson forest, the best mountain bike trails in the
state are right out the door. I'm supposed to bring the bike to work tomorrow to ride with a
co-worker, hopefully it will become a habit again.

Bonnie (the dog in my avatar) loves to run along with me, when I was riding regularly we were
"in tune" with each other enough that we could race around in the woods trading places like it
was a motocross race, block passing, etc, it was great. Now that we don't ride habitually,
she just gets excited and barks and jambs sticks in my spokes - she's always running with a
stick in her mouth...

The mountain bike is a great training tool. The best part it is fun, not like training at all.  I ride 3-4 times a week.  I am still 30# overweight myself. I am down from 260 last year.  I am at a I hope to shed the rest this summer.  My back has stopped hurting and I am full of energy.  I have some degree of fitness!  I also race enduros and hare scrambles on my dirt bike.  I have made it to A rider status.  I can only say that it is the mountain bike that has got me there.  I will be pedaling for life.  On the MTB and on the road bike (bicycle) too.
Get out and fid some MTB trails and have a grin!
