The Sikhs remind me of the Koreans in the LA King riots.  The only group that stood up to the looters.... who stood (well) back catcalled them for having the effrontery to prevent them from looting their stores..... while the cops stood by and did nothing (on orders).



The King riots, like those in Britain, were not about the Rodney King verdict or a shooting, they were about looting free TVs.  In Detroit in '67, the National Guard was ordered to shoot looters on sight... that is the appropriate solution in all such cases.
