If y'all can book it for either of the last two weekends, we'll be there.

I'm not sure, but I think it's roughly the 9th 1st Annual Texas Ride In.

We discussed this at the July Houston meeting (the one in August).  We picked out a few weekends in October, and I'm going to be calling some hotels over the next week or so, and finding out which of those weekends will work.  Last year we had some trouble conflicting with other major gatherings in town.  I'll be getting back to everybody soon.

Rocketman... I know I haven't met too many of the members here and I am certainly not trying to sound presumptuous or to pee into anyone's Wheaties here but....

There is a October Kerrville ride well underway in the planning stages over on the gold wing forum... of which I am a member.

http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/forum2/109707-1.html

Both motel and camping arrangements have already been made.  Heck... they are even making t-shirts this year.  This fella (Docweb) running this show is a complete hoot and we'd love to have you guys join us.  Come ride with us... ride on your own... do whatever.

Last year was awesome... it was while on this ride last year I fist saw, and purchased, my Valk...

Everyone is welcome...  Travis!

Thank you very much for the offer.  However, the general feeling amongst those I've asked, is that we have a good sized group on our own, and would like to keep this a VRCC event.  While anyone is welcome to join us, joining another, expecially larger, group would cause this to lose its identity as the Texas VRCC ride-in.
I hope you can make both trips.

(Side note for those of ya'll who are close enough to pull this off:  If you can't make the whole weekend, stop in for dinner, or the ride, or just some tire kicking.  A rough schedule will be publicized as it is developed.)

Wakarimas! (I understand!)

But... I have to laugh at the "larger group" notion you are obviously suffering under. Last year we had four bikes... two 1500's, a 1800 trike and a Harley Sportster!

We just planned ahead, did the research and opened negotiations with the lodging vendors much earlier than you guys... and thought we'd save you the effort as we already have our foot in the door with lodging vendors.  None the less... the offer stands.

On a different subject... just for grins and giggles... I will (yet again) be sponsoring my 29th trip to the Big Bend area this spring break.  The dates are static for March 10th thru the 17th. I'll be riding my Valk, as my wing will be on "trip loan" to a buddy flying out from GA.  Last year we had four bikes and five folks.  Awesome times... awesome rides... and awesome food and fare...

All are invited... regardless...

Come ride!

(sorry about the thread hijack... I'll keep it short!)

Mario, Disco,

I'll let ya know.  Mario... no camping for me either!  I have done my share of that and I am done with that... most of the time I stay here:

http://www.antelopelodge.com/

But if we have a good group, this place ( right up in the Davis mts.) has rental cabins with bathrooms and kitchens and there is the option for folks to tent camp or RV hookups;

I have it from FLATBUSTED today that a Kerrville Texas ride-in the first couple of weekends in October will not be in conflict with ROMP IN THE SWAMP 4 in Louisiana which will be held closer to Halloween weekend.    T.P.
