What up Guys,

Thinking about an upgrade. Anyone out there have Cobra's Swept Floorboards installed? What's your opinion? Are they set higher than pegs? I presently have Kuryakyn driver's pegs. They actually set higher than stock pegs decreasing your leg room. Throw in a corbin seat and it's a little cramped.

Also, Where can a pick up a kick shifter (heel/toe shifter) of good quality? Chet has retired (hate that Cry).

thnx

I've got the Cobra classic style board on my Valks.  I don't remember noticing a height difference so they must be pretty close.  I previously tried Kury's Dually pegs and they wiped out the increased leg room I got with Rattlebars Peg Relocators.

Afa the kickshifter, Tank_Post is putting together a run of them and we're all waiting.  You can try to find a Rattlebars but the last one on eBay went for $323.   Shocked  You can look here on the Tech Board as another member has posted the template to make your own.

I have them and like them alot.... had to adjust the shifter a bit and you do have to get used to them. You have to lift your heel a bit, but i wont go back to pegs. I have scuffed the edges a bit from some work in the twisties...... they do support your feet nicely and I think they look nice.

I would recommend them.

See my photo link. Are these the ones you are referencing? If so, I'd say they are beautiful and feel great... but a bit pricey... Sad

Having said that, after installation I wish I had gone with the "traditional-looking" ones.  Cry
They look a little too slick for the vintage "theme" that am pursuing.

They have less than 600 miles on them. Very comfortable so far... I am 5' 6."
I do use the pegs 90% of the time. coolsmiley

I recently installed the Cobra swept boards, the relo kit made by Mike Terry, and the Rattlebar kick shifter.
I am all for comfort and this set-up gives me that.

I have the standard Cobra floorboards on my I/S and I swear I can't get to my shifter worth a crap. I have to side-shoe the shifter. I tried the move 2 splines thing to no avail. Still no room. I only have a size 12 shoe. My Yamaha V-Star Silverado has the absolute best heel toe set-up for the nice big floor boards I have ever seen. There has to be a better way. I'm seriously thinking of putting the Kury peg back on the left side and the board on the right.

Know what you mean.  I have to cram my boot under there to shift to 2nd then leave it under till I get to 5th.  Down shifting is just as big a pita.  Have to remove my foot so the shifter can reset for every gear.  Wish Tank_Post would hurry up with his shifter so we can see and possibly order it.

I put boards on both Valks and truth be told I'm not real crazy about them.  I've noticed my feet getting hot through the soles of my boots.  Something that never happened with the pegs.  I think the boards are absorbing the heat and transferring it to my feet.

The shifting-space-problem is there, even w/the swept floor boards and especially when I wear my boots. Roll Eyes

These boards are smaller than the traditional style ones, though. I moved the shifter-lever one tooth and it helped.

Notwithstanding, I have and continue to experience the same shifting issue while riding my '77 Wing.
It obviously all has to do with the lay-out of these flat engines.  Undecided
