riding down the BRP (Bronx River Parkway) to work this morning, in the decelleration lane with my blinker on downshifting to get off at my exit a Black Tahoe cuts in front of me from the middle lane of the 3 lane each way parkway and jams on the brakes to make the turn.  Thank goodness for ABS on the tight exit turn. The bike stopped on a dime and I cut left next to him so if there was gonna be a rear end it was the fella in backa me that would hit him

I started flashing the beemer lites as I braked and he stops 1st car at the red light and I pulled alongside motioning him to open the window.

He does

A BIG BROTHER

Was it worth it I asked him.

"Do you know you cut me off and almost caused an accident as there were cars behind me."

Whats the problem he asked.

I replied you made an unsafe move cutting around and braking. I bet you did not know that you  cut off a bmw police bike.

What usually happens when you pull that stunt in front of a police vehicle ?

I am sorry he says

I said go in front of me, no way I want you behind me now and he went off

I was going over 60 (I know the speed limit is 15 below that) as I hit the curve before my exit

For him to be able to pull that move he had to be going much faster than me and he was probably already braking as he pulled over 2 lanes on the turn which as you know was left then right hard for the exit.  In the future I will be looking not just behind me but also 2 lanes to the left

If it was a wet road I wonder if the outcome even with the kick ass abs would have been the same?

Oss,

i've got two traffic lights on my way to work, and three on the way home.  it's a ten mile ride each way.  i use to live down town chicago, so i have a great respect for you and your comute!!  i did it with a car, then ditched that and took the CTA to get to work.

My morning is much better, OSS... off for a round of golf.  Glad you are safe... and it looks like ABS is a very good thing.
