The Landmass Between Mobile And New Orleans

« on: August 12, 2011, 07:55:42 PM »

I've been hearing this song on the radio the past few weeks but haven't been able to discover who sang it till today.  It's an English artist named Adele.

Adele - Rolling In The Deeppowered by Aeva

Then, lo and behold, MSN Videos puts up a video of Sidewinder, one of the performing groups under the 571st Air Force Band of the 131st Bomb Wing.  They are deployed as the US Air Forces Central Command Band.  That's SSgt Angie Johnson with the pipes.  Tell me we don't have any talent in our servicemembers!!   Cool

WHOA!  Angie has some voice.  Hope someone in the biz hears her.  Hey Xring, if you have an Iphone, look for an app called Shazam.  It's either free or costs less than a buck, and with it, you can identify songs.  It will give you the name of the artist, song, album, etc., and it works.  I've used it many times.   cooldude

Hmm.  It doesn't to me but Melody has a great voice and probably works well with jazz standards.  Read her bio.  Pretty interesting especially considering the brain damage she got in that accident, the struggles she has had since then and is still able to perform like that.  Impressive.

You're Welcome.  I found both of Adele's cds, 19 and 21, at Wally World yesterday.

Google Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. If you like Adele you won't be disappointed.
