Just got word that a friend of mine from Wilsonville, AL was in a motorcycle accident in Wyoming tonight around 6 pm their time.  He didn't make it, but his wife wasn't seriously injured, thankfully.  They had worked all week at a booth on Main Street across from the Motorcycle Museum at the Dakota Baptist Convention Bike Giveaway.  They were taking a last ride before heading out in the morning.

I ask two things:  first, please remember them, their family and friends in your prayers, and secondly, please be careful riding.  The details of their accident aren't known yet, but there is a possibility that he wasn't wearing a helmet.  I know it is every rider's decision whether to wear a helmet or not, but think of those who you'll leave behind if you die solely of a head injury b/c no helmet.

Oh wow, so sorry to hear of this. We were out there last week and about 98% were helmetless.

I'm in Sturgis right now and have not heard a word about this tragedy.  I am very sorry to hear of your loss.

Apparently, it sounds like he had made provisions for his afterlife, which should be some comfort to you and the family in these tough days ahead.

Again, my deepest condolences.

Another bike was killed by a hit and run from the rear.  Guy was from Neb, so don't guess it was your friend.  Deepest condolences for both.
