Question for Valkmc (and other peoples' opinions) about going to Alaska

I have a question about your trip to Alaska. I am posting it here because I am not yet registered for the Concours message board.

I own a Valkyrie Interstate and a Kawasaki Councours 14 ABS. I am thinking about a trip to Alaska next summer and I am debating which bike to take. The Valk would probably be more comfortable and perhaps more reliable while the Concours would probably be more easy to maneuver and get much better gas mileage.

What would you recommend for the trip? If I remember correctly, you sold your Valkyrie and bought the Concours 14.

I welcome comments from others who have taken the trip to Alaska.
