The FBI has said that when Letterman starts to tape is shows again there will be surveilance of the Theater.
Al Queda targeted Letterman after he made a statement about an Al Queda leader that had been killed or captured.
AQ continues to be the stupidest Terror outfit around, giving advance notice of who they are targeting.

I think they do that so the victem will have to sweat it out looking over his shoulder the rest of his life. It's a serious threat, there are alqueda here in the state who probably will be trying to get him.

What is with this obsession with pork and Muslims? ??? Muslims, like kosher Jews and others, have dietary laws that forbid certain foods and food preparation techniques. It's not like Muslims and Jews are afraid of pork, will explode, or die if exposed to it! I have Muslim and Jewish friends that are quite content to sit next to me as I enjoy a great pork steak, rib, or sausage pizza!

bobo: you will remember your 7-8 grade classes where we discussed the crusades: the ultimate insult was to bury an Islamist in the hide of a pig. Christians are well aware of the proscriptions against pork and pork products. hence the comments. get a clue.

Well, for someone who doesn't even pay enough attention to correctly spell my handle, I guess I shouldn't expect an understanding of religious beliefs... The old (or new) wives-tale of burying a Muslim with (or in) a pig to prevent them from realizing their heavenly rewards has no basis in fact. This is just a cartoon version of reality aimed at simple minded people who derive satisfaction from simplistic solutions. Most religions with dietary restrictions like Islam and Judaism provide "outs" in case of duress or desperation. Instead of a clue, you should instead educate yourself. It's much more rewarding!

I usually stay way out of these threads but in this case. The pig skin was meant as an insult and degradation. Also in the 19th century the English would intentionally lubricate their bullets with pig fat. Again not really of any import but just as another spit in the eye to the Muslim enemy.

I can see where this is heading... So ... getting back to Letterman... Seems his people will hire some security to watch around him for a while in case some extremist wants to make a name for or(Martyr) himself. Seems kinda dumb that Al Queda would waste any time on Letterman as he poses no threat to them at all. They just didn't like his joking about them. It kinda reminds me of another joke that I heard about Al Queda losing a lot of their "Suicide Bomb Instructors" because the instructor wraps a bomb around himself with the detonator button in his hand and says, "Now pay attention class... I'm only going to show you this once"

Some say Islam is a religion of peace. Those people are either ignorant or stupid. Real Islam is like the Borg on the old Star Trek show, resistance is futile. If you don't submit to their way, the Quran instructs them to kill you. If they don't kill you, they don't believe the Quran either.

Actually, Leno's wife heads up some organization that targets woman's rights around the world, so he may be in the line of fire one day if she goes too far.

Christianity isn't really a "religion of peace" either if you ignore the Christ part and unfortunately too many Christians do. Let's not start listing atrocities committed in the name of Christ because we'll be here all day. Religions are reflective of those who practice them. Humans being what they are it means every single one has a spotty track record.

Nothing in the Holy Bible instructs me to convert by force if nessassry or kill those who don't agree with the bible. Some of you need to go back further in history and learn why the Christians fought against the Muslims during the Crusades in the first place. Oh yea, the Muslims were murdering anyone who wouldn't convert to Islam. But don't forget the point, NOTHING in the bible instructs any believer to hurt anyone for not being a Christian or a believer in the bible.

First of all, that depends on which translation/version of the Quran you follow. Not all of them are quite so vehemently opposed to any and all things non-muslim. But you know that there's some heinous stuff in some versions of the bible too, right? Again we could go on and on about this. These things were all written at a much different time in civilization and the world has moved on. It's all about whether or not you recognize it and adapt. But I'll allow you this much; moderate and progressive Islam have both tolerated radical Islam for too long. Where Islam has failed most is in it's ability to police itself. Had the rest of Islam treated radical Islam the way Christians treat radicals like the WBC then we might not be having this conversation. So they deserve some ownership of the mess.
