The Twilight Zone

« on: August 20, 2011, 02:53:06 PM »

I've had my standard since Feb. and notice people looking but never saying nothing. We left at 7:00 this morning and hit the twisties and was a beautiful day. There were two other bikes, a 1100 Shadow which was beautiful bike..I liked the aqua color, and a 1800 VTX 1800 F Spec 3 which also was a pretty bike. Everywhere we stopped people would come up and compliment... guess who?? non riders and bikers, some with nice Harleys too would come up and give nothing but compliments. Very unusal for HD owners, heck even one that had a nice Ultra Classic CVO 110ci said he wanted one!! They all loved the sound and I never had done the nickel...and it ain't no trick as people call it for the first time and surprised my own self- not once but 2 different times today and even got it up over 3k rpm before it fell!! Grin The guy riding the Shadow wants one bad now, his wife laid her hands on the grips and couldn't feel no vibration, sit on my seat, and now their both chomping at the bit to buy one!! Got 2 converts today including the HD Screaming Eagle guy!! 2funny 2funny

Now that makes me feel goooood!! 2funny 2funny Makes a fellow proud!

If that nickle fell over at 3000, get it fixed. Must be missing on one cylinder. I know, must have been an earthquake.

LOL, I can go over 4K easy.  Don't know exactly how far.  I'm not a big fan rev'ing up an engine under no load.

I went to a gathering up in the Smokies.. all models. I had the only Valk. One of the Harley riders came up to me and said: "that is one testosterone-laden bike". I just smiled.

Yeah like you I don't like to rev one too high either, not good for any vehicle. i didn't look at the tack but I was around 3k. Just idling without revving was amazing! Grin

That 5 cent trick gets em most every time. 2funny I've said this before-every time i go to my local friendly chopper shop he has a couple of H/D riders that ain't seen it yet. cooldude Had more than one H/D rider tell me they couldn't balance a nickel on theirs with the engine off. tickedoff It's way more fun when you have THEM supply the nickel. uglystupid2 RIDE SAFE.

The nickel trick is good. So is pulling out onto the highway after getting laughed at by some harley riders while revving the engine under a bridge with the stock exhaust....
