if that were me on the bike,,how can they copyright a picture of me? don't they have to have my permission first?
now kill-boy on the other hand doesn't claim copyright,,they just put their name on the pic,,,

I think that they would need permission if the person(s) in the pic can be recognised.

In most areas the picture is property of the person who took the picture. That is why the AP Newswire could claim ownership of the Obama picture that was turned into the campaign poster. Essentially if it can legally be taken then it can be owned by the photographer. Different areas have different rules about when you can take someones pictures, but a good rule of thumb is outside is okay.

The photographer always owns the copyright. You however own you. The photos can be used by them under certain circumstances without your permission BUT then things become muddy depending on where you are. That is the reason for model releases, if you sign one of those they can use the photo anywhere they like. Likewise you should probably not have published them on this site or on any other site without their permission.
