Something occurred on my bile today that I'm unsure of.  I recently put in a Pingle and its not leaking around the petcock.  I had just ridden the bike about 30 miles and I parked the bike on the street in 92 degree weather for about two hours.  When I came out there was a small circle of gas on the ground , but nothing is leaking since.  Does that gas breather line act as a overflow when parked in the heat?  I don't think I have a gas leak, but again, I don't know.  At least I don't see a gas leak.  It should be stated I'm not the most mechanically minded person.  It's like my computer I'm stupid with that to!  Any comments are appreciated.  Linedog

Hey Gary,
I had the same thing happen on my bike (stock petcock)...sometime last month, I had filled it up before I parked it.  Later that afternoon I had a puddle under the bike and could actually see the gas drip out of the vent tube..so I guess the moral of the story is, don't overfill in the hot weather without taking a bit of a ride before you park it...

Yeah, but he rode it 30 miles after filling it up.  Would think that would lower it enough.  Maybe, if filled to the very top upright, 30 miles still did not burn out enough.

When I had a Honda petcock, (had two) I was always running my hand under the petcock to see if it was dripping/leaking. You prob had an overflow from the tank but it wouldnt hurt to do the under tank hand check either.

Thanks guys!  Actually I had only about 1/2 tankl of gas.  I run my hand all the way around underneath, found nothing.  Especially around the petcock.  Hasn't leaked since.   Linedog

Then I guess the only other consideration would be that a float bowl was overflowing and dropping it on the ground. I find this very remote however.

Maybe the spot was from a different source unbeknown to you, like a buddy screwing with you or something like that!
