Bought a new Dyna 3000.  Installed it.  Did the 6 degree mod on the factory trigger wheel (aftermarket wheel was poor quality).  Set it on 7.  Bike ran great, with an improvement of around 3 mpg.  Rode it for a week.  Last night, went to take it for a ride - wouldn't start.  No red light signal.  Replaced it with the stock ICM - started right up.

I have read about some people having such problems with their Dyna 3000.  Do you usually have to go through a few of these ICM's before you get one that lasts?

About three or four years ago there were some bad ones but not in the past 2 1/2 years . maybe you bought an older one that was on the shelf?
Plus i'm not sure if 7 is the setting you want with a 6 degree wheel in the bike . call dyna and ask them or contact "Curmudgeon" (John) on this web siteand ask him , he knows!

Some years back, I seem to recall hearing about incompatability issues between the Dyna 3000 and a certain brand of trigger wheel.  Could the problem be your modded trigger wheel? Terry

I would not think the motor would start with that much advanced timing assuming the Dyna 3000 is doing its thing.  I would think you would need to run it in the retard mode.  Setting 7 on a stock wheel is just about max.
