A couple of weeks ago my better half and I toured the Blue Ridge Parkway, North to South, and ended up in Robbinsville for the last night of our trip (stayed at the Phillips Motel - I'm sorry to hear the host fell and injured herself), and on Friday morning (Aug 12th), I dragged her to the Deal's Gap Resort to check it out - she had heard a lot of horror stories about wrecking and dying on the Dragon, and was very afraid to ride it. The traffic in the morning was very light, and she felt that if I had gone all that way and not "Slayed the Dragon", I would be upset, so she agreed to ride with me.
We got back to the resort and bumped into another '99 Valk I/S and stood there too long BS'ing with him about bike stuff, and didn't make it back into the store in time to pick up the obligatory stickers to plaster on our stuff to show we made it, and they won't sell the stickers on their website. Is there anyone near the area that could pick up some for us please? I'll paypal the money to you to cover the stickers, shipping, and maybe even lunch.

Nowheres near Deal's Gap sorry.
On another note..... glad to see you finally made it over to the VRCC board! For everyone else... I've know jer0177 for a few years and have pestered him more than once about getting over to the VRCC once he got himself an I/S.
Trust me, there are some "characters" over here, but nothing compared to what HSN.net has become.

Yep... one of the top two rain storms I have ever been in. Figured we were already soaked to the gills in the first mile... no need to stop under a bridge now... too late.
My socks are still damp.
...rain jacket was nice and dry in the saddlebag though.

Are either of you guys doing the BRP ride over Labor day? I'll be riding into Bethel Park Thursday night, heading for VA on Friday. Ifn your going, we could hook up.

Unless you've really done it and didn't have time to get anything afterwords or would have had to end up paying the late checkout fee at the hotel because the cell phone didn't even work in the area to call back to the Phillips Motel and let the hostess know we would be running a few minutes late! |
