Anyone have one they saved but is dead or malfunctioning? I would happily trade a fine cigar for one so I can remove a few LED's to repair mine that I thoughtlessly set my top tree on and cracked. Yes, I have surface-mount soldering equipment at home to do so with.

I suggest buying new LEDs from DigiKey or Mouser, and then smoking that fine cigar yourself!

They're wierd LED's and I'd never match them correctly. I have loads of fine cigars, no replacement LEDs  Smiley

EDIT: just another of my hobbies Smiley

That is a nice collection!  Looks like a culebra on the lop left shelf!

If those LEDs are discrete, it shouldn't be too hard sourcing them.  Do you have a close-up of one of the LEDs?

they're discrete, but surface mount rectangles, with an "eye" lens, lemme see if I can get a pic.

Sounds like an SMT dome lens type.  Here's a link to SunLED with that type.  I use their products a lot.

I have been an electronic design engineer for over 30 years.  I design embedded controls for aerospace, automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics.  I mostly design consumer electronics now, using wireless networks and color touch screens.  It's hard to believe what appliances will have wireless networking and other high-tech goodies!
