iphone app
Allstate GoodRide

I haven't used this app a whole lot yet but it seems pretty neat.
You can:
Track your route on a ride and share it via facebook
You can add pics or details to your route
It has a find gas option - with prices
You can use it for maintenance logging and/or parts logging
it has a pre-ride checklists
State laws (like helmet laws or rear view mirror requirements etc)
Current and future weather
and a list of classic motorcycle rides (Cherohala Skyway, Million Dollar Highway etc.)
and even Allstate roadside assistance.

Well worth it's $0 (free) price tag.

Check it out if you have an iphone, ipad or iTouch - sorry I don't know about droid.

Thanks. I just downloaded this and it looks like it's probably pretty well done. I'll test it out when I go to dinner this evening in the cage.

I've used it a few times and one little issue I found with it is that when you don't have cell service it takes you last known location and combines it with your newest know location and draws a straight line between them. According to one map I rode over 2 creeks where there wasn't any road or bridge. (I knew my Valk could fly!)
One other thing - I accidentally deleted the app and re-added it - if you do this without backing your iphone/ipod/ipad up you will lose all the data - so I lost a couple of ride maps. I'm thinking I'll start uploading them to facebook just to help keep the ones I really care about.
I'm thinking the maintenance portion of the app could be very helpful - I just need to figure out how to remember to use it and make it a habit - then my maintenance info will be wherever my phone is.

If anybody comes up with any tips or tricks for the app please share.

Anyone have any other aps that they would recommend?
I use my weather.com app more than any other when I'm riding.
I have also started using he mapquest app for GPS - it has some limitations but I'm liking it.

One I found, TeleNav GPS for I-Phone. Works real Good.  Real time driving directions, My gps took a dump in Robbinsville NC, and I was trying to find my sister in laws place north of Woodstock,GA. She lives in the boonies, plugged in the destination, took me right to it, worked as well as my Garmin. Free version just guides with a moving map, paid ver. offers voice guidance. Worth the download, just to have a backup.

Thanks for the app link.

I've been playing with it all morning.  It seems like a helpful tool.  I'll share this to my local riding group.  One of the many features I like is the maintance record.  I'm transfering my records from various notebooks and scraps of paper to one organized location.  I wish I had known about this app eariler, so I could have used it on my Baton Rouge to Sturgis ride.
