I received a story in email from somebody with pictures of a truck after hitting a deer. The damage is massive. Curious, I did some net searching and found a lot of similar stuff and thought some of you might be interested in seeing just how bad it can be.

I think one of my most prevalent fears when riding is that of hitting a deer! Two of the cursed things ran across the road right up in front of me last Sunday at only 4:40 PM the afternoon. It wasn't even close to dusk and they were scampering around already.

Haven't hit a deer with the bike, but did manage to hit a steer with my first bike in '80.   Steer won     Went a number of years before buying the Valk and starting to ride again.  I still avoid dark shadows
