Harry Hurt said many years ago, "You tell me what kind of accident you're going to have and I'll tell you what to wear."

I'm not a psychic so I do this.

Helmet.  Full Face flip up.  Dot approved.  It's not the same as the Snoopy 'free as the air'  aviator leather 'helmet' that I wore many years ago (with goggles) but it is more reassuring.

Jacket.  Synthetic mesh or synthetic heavy lined jacket with padding in the right places.

Gloves. Always!  Deerskin, water resistant.

Pants.  Denim Diamond Gusset with kevlar at the sliding areas.  Not the best protection but I wear it always.  Diamond Gusset because of the extra room .

Boots. 9 inch standard motorcycle boots, no laces for me.  Got laces caught in my shift lever one time, not good, especially when the right foot was on the brake as I was stopping.

I'm reminding myself here, not trying to advocate to anyone.

Another .02.
