Onyango Obama, Uncle Of President, Arrested For Drunk Driving

http://www.huffingtonpost.c...%7Csec1_lnk2%7C90597

Onyango Obama, President Obama's uncle, was arrested on August 24 in Massachusetts for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, CBS News reports.

According to CNN, Onyango Obama was arrested in Framingham, a Boston suburb, after not stopping his SUV at an intersection.

The Metro West Daily News reports that he had a blood alcohol level of .14 when tested with a Breathalyzer at the police station. The legal limit in Massachusetts is .08, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

From the Associated Press:

Police said that when asked if he wanted to make a phone call, Obama said: "I think I will call the White House."
A spokesman for Cleveland immigration attorney Margaret Wong, who is representing him, confirmed that the 67-year-old is the president's uncle.
...

Police say the president's uncle is originally from Kenya and is being held without bail on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Wong was one of the attorneys who represented Zeituni Onyango, President Obama's aunt, who last year was granted political asylum after spending ten years as an undocumented immigrant in Boston.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment from The Boston Herald, the paper reports.

I wonder if the old saying of it's not what you know but, who you know will play out here.

Funny there is a little bit conflicting information here... (but the basic information of him being Barrack's Uncle and arrested for DUI is correct)   http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/newsnow/x348978583/Lawyer-confirms-President-Obamas-half-uncle-arrested-by-Framingham-Police

FRAMINGHAM —

A Framingham man arrested for drunken driving last week after nearly colliding with a Framingham Police cruiser is President Barack Obama's half-uncle.

Onyango Obama, 67, is Barack Obama's father's half-brother, said a spokesman for Onyango's immigration lawyer, Margaret Wong, of Cleveland, Ohio.

The spokesman, Mike Rogers, said he was not sure how long Onyango Obama has been in the United States or living in Framingham.

Wong also represented Obama's younger sister, Zeituni Onyango, in her immigration case last year, after federal authorities said she was living in Boston illegally and would be deported.

"These cases are separate, and she (Wong) is trying to sort through all of the facts,'' Rogers said.

Framingham Police arrested Onyango Obama, of 37 Charles St., after he took a quick turn from Waverly Street onto South Street in his Mitsubishi SUV, cutting off a Framingham Police cruiser.

Police said Obama smelled of liquor and had red, bloodshot eyes. He failed several roadside sobriety tests. He at first denied drinking, but later said he had two drinks.

Police arrested Obama at 7:10 p.m. and charged him with operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor and driving to endanger. He was also cited for not using a turn signal.

Obama took a Breathalyzer test and registered a .14 blood alcohol level. The legal limit is .08.

When asked by police if he needed to call someone for bail, Obama said, "I think I will call the White House,'' according to the police report.

Obama pleaded not guilty at his Framingham District Court arraignment last Thursday. Judge Robert Greco did not order any bail on the case, but ordered Obama held on a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer warrant. The police report said Obama had previously been ordered deported to his native Kenya.

A spokesman for ICE today said they will not comment on any specific cases. A White House spokesman referred all calls to ICE.

Oh now stop it, nobody said that.

Let's all just be thankful that the police put a stop to this before did something like run a stop sign and kill someone.

The police don't put a stop to it...the broken ass court system does. Don't hold your breath for justice.
