Motorcyclist badly cut by fighting kite string strung between power poles

Happened in Toronto on Sunday, August 28.  I hope someone gets caught and criminal charges laid.

A constant fear. We had a garden hose across the trail where I ride on a regular basis.
It was the usual neighborhood ner'do wells.
They understand now why they dont want to do that again.

I read the report and it didn't suggest that someone had strung, as many of you suspect, the string intentionally.  The implication is that it was the result of "fighting kites" in which the participants intentionally attempt to cut the opposition's kite string resulting in orphaned string.

I used to live not too far from that area. I saw the live news report,
the reporter mentioned that the bone-head kite fighters were goofin
around the streets there, throwin and stretchin string all over the
place.
If I caught the goofy mo-fo's doing that.....

A guy on a four wheeler died a few miles from me a year or two ago. A local landowner had put a cable across a private road to stop people from using it. The four wheeler rider came through at night and was found dead the next morning.

I'm not finding fault with anyone on it. Maybe the landowner should have used an orange cable but the rider shouldn't have been trespassing either.

also happens every once in a while with snow mobiles and barbwire fences.  i'm not one to think it was done on purpose, i enjoy flying a kite every now and then and i have downed it over a road once or twice.  one time i downed a kite and it got hooked on a semi truck!!  cut the heck out of my fingers!!
