Here's the long-awaited announcement.  October 7/8/9 is the weekend.  Kerrville's YO Ranch is the destination.  The group sales director has 25 rooms blocked for us.  We can shrink or expand that as necessary.  The block should be in effect, well, NOW.  So, call, make your reservation before they're all gone!!!

Detailed schedule to follow later.

I'm booked but went down the street for a little better rate at a place I've stayed before.

For the 7th to the 9th of September October. crazy2

As with others, thanks for doing all of this for the group.  Looking forward to the gathering.

I might be able to ride out for the day on Saturday or Sunday... just to meet a few folks.  Let me know what the schedule looks like.

OK, for the new folks:
General concept:

Friday is ride-in day.  Some folks get there early, some late, dependent upon when they can get out of town.  We try to get a group together for dinner on Friday, though.
Friday night, we repair electrical connectors in the parking lot.  (or was that just last year?  Let's not do that again this year.)
Saturday morning, we take a group ride.  Direction is as of yet undetermined.  Last year we split into a "relaxed" group, and a "spirited" group.  We try to time up those groups so as to meet at the same place for lunch, then another split ride back.
Saturday evening is another dinner, and kicking tires till late in the hotel parking lot.
Sunday morning is any combination of breakfast, or a local ride, or travel back home.

Most cities will have a group (or two or three) leaving from there throughout the day on Friday, and the same for the trip home.  I'm sure you can join up with one if you like.  Those plans will start forming in the next few weeks, I'm sure.

I'll do the same as last year - ride out on Friday, ride home on Saturday.  Texans play the Raiders at home on the 9th.

Last year Wizard stayed, I'll ask him his plans for this year

Seems that a game between the Texans and the Raiders would be a good reason to ride AWAY from Houston. 2funny

I take my Texans Football very seriously!  And, since I've spent a small fortune on my season tickets AND parking, I'll not waste it by missing the game.

It's not the riding in the Hill Country that I come down for, it's the chance to see friends.  I can see most of the folks there Friday night and Saturday morning, so I'll consider it a win-win.

I had season tickets for the Houston Oilers for 10 years before they became the Tennessee Turncoats, and bought my PSL and season tickets for the Texans since they started playing.

Duane says he'll stay the whole weekend - he's not as addicted as I am!

As a fellow Valk rider, this sounds terrific. I have yet to ride with other Valk owners. Do you know of any tent camping on or nearby the YO Ranch?  I just rigged my bike to pull a trailer and would like to give it a test.

Well, I just signed Kitty and I up for the ride cooldude

We've never been on a ride with a group of riders, but we've always wanted to try one. I have some friends on Facebook who are hard core Harley riders who are always going  on big rides, and posting pictures about it. They've invited me to go a few times, but judging by their pictures, I think that my wife and I may be a little too conservative for their group...... Idunno  Undecided

I know I'm just a newbie, so please forgive me if I'm overstepping my bounds. The "Three Sisters" are only a little over 60 miles from Kerrville, and would be a GREAT ride Grin I've always wanted to take that ride, and everyone I know who has rode the sisters, claimed it's a fantastic ride.

Here's a link to the Three Sisters, and some other Hill Country rides as well:

Glad to see you found the thread I mentioned to you in our PM's.  cooldude   We did the Sisters the last two years, so there's discussion going on about riding a different route this year just for giggles.  We'll split into two groups,, one slower and the other faster (they use the term "spirited"  Shocked   so as to not scare the women folk on back  Roll Eyes )  and meet up for lunch somewhere.  Hope to meet you and the lady soon.GJ

Thanks for the info.  I looked again at the dates and I believe I am already scheduled to ride with a mixed bag of bikes to Big Bend.  I would like to hook up someday with fellow Valk riders.

I successfully put a hitch on my bike and completed the wiring to the trailer.  The mechanic that did the install, inadvertently threw away the info on the wiring harness.  It was purchased from Walmart and did not require "engineering" the wiring.  I cannot remember where I found the info, but do you recall seeing this on this site?  I would like to file this info for future reference.

The bulbs in the trailer are standard trailer lights.  Concerned about the power pull from these bulbs, any thoughts on changing them with LED?

Thanks.

Connie and I have tentative plans to meet up with several others to ride out to Kerrville together.  Last year we met up in Hempstead at the Exxon/McD's on Hwy290 @ FM1488, same place as for the Bluebonnet ride.  We're taking off work that Friday.  I've sent out PM's to those that met with us last year, but I don't know if others have made their own plans or not, but I don't want to leave anyone out who would like to join us. This is the PM I've sent to them. Anyone wishing to join, can PM me or email direct  HrdDrvnMan@aol.com.

Just trying to get a rough idea of when and who will be meeting up to ride to Kerrville  on OCT 7.   Are you planning on meeting with us at the Exxon/McD's at Hiway290 @ FM1488 same as last year ?    Prefer different route other than Hwy 290?  What time is best for you?  Connie and I are taking off work that day, so we can be anyplace at any time. Suggestions?
