Boy; what a bad day in Knoxville. When to pick up a 2003 Honda 750 Magna from a seller out of Atlanta that agreed to meet us half way. Bike checked out as stated, paid cash, got title signed. All OK. Stopped for gas a few blocks from pick up and smelled gas, what else do you smell while buying gas. Got on I 75, trying to keep up with FAST LIBBY, my wife and kept feeling a mist around my face. Thinking was AC mist from cars in front of me and finely realized I was feeling GAS MIST. Looked down on left leg and saw gas pouring out of tank. I`m running about 70 in left lane and knew I had to get off the bike SOON. I cut lanes to the right real quick and shut off bike. Tank has a pin size hole right at lower seam and gas shooting out and down the side of motor. Now all this time FAST LIBBY has gone out of sight. I`m about 1 mile from exit 112 so I start walking in 95 degree heat. About half way to 112 a Harley stops and asked if I needed help. Says I can use his cell, my cell is with FAST LIBBY. So I call her to return to her husband who at this time could kill her. She was to keep me in sight on return trip, NOT. I thank Mr. Spence and his wife for stopping and helping me out of a bad time. He is a Chaplain with "Knox Area Rescue Ministries". After wife finds me I call seller to come a pick up bike, he trailer ed up from Atlanta. He showed up in about 45 minutes and could not understand how or why tank sprung a leak. I told him I needed my money back ,which he gave freely. We would have had a big problem otherwise. But, a nice guy and was sorry things turned out as they did. Now, I will look for another Magna. We drove 400 miles and had lunch, came home. Safe and almost sound.  Wink

Tom, you are right. I would have had a hard time getting out of a pair Jeans that were on fire.  Cry Left leg was wet with gas. Seller wrote me that he has ordered a new tank for the bike. He is not the type to "RIG" anything just to sell. I think the full tank pressure caused the weak spot in the tank to open. He was not aware of the rust , or how bad to was.

Maybe as good as the seller was, he can deliver it all the way to you to compensate you for your troubles. Smiley

Glad you noticed before it caught fire. Someone was watching over you. angel

You are right, bad day for "HE & ME". Could have gotten ugly real quick. Seller had come from Atlanta to bring bike and visit his Mother. I wrote him that seeing his Mom had to be the best part of the day, he agreed.  angel
