Want to know how many used 205 65/16 darkside

I am replacing my firsr darkside which was a 55 want to go 60 of 65. I have done nut cage mod. I want to find out if anyone had a problem with going to 65 and what tire they used.

Know a few have used the 205/65/16 Michelin Hydroedge.  Its a very good tire and has excellent traction.  Ive been using it for a number of years, only in a larger size.

I had a 205-60 for a few thousand miles until I ran over some road debris and destroyed it.  Now I have a 205-65 and couldn't be happier.  Having the higher sidewall makes it noticably smoother and lowers your rpm.  The wife loves it!  Won't go back to anything smaller.

My first car tire was a 205/65/16 Toyo Proxes TPT and my second and third car tire have been a 205/65/16 Kumo Solus tire. No issues with the tires except I had to replace the first Kumo Solus as it went bad. (Bubble on the sidewall), and it was hitting the swing arm during every revolution of the tire. Don't know what caused that to happen. Happy so far with the third car tire.

First darkside was a popular 205/55/16 summer tire.  Too much bump steering and too much rpm.  Gave it away for postage.  After a long search for the roundest cross section tire that I could find in a 65, I put on a Nexen 5000 in 205/65/16 and couldn't be more satisfied.  It handles almost like a MC tire, but it will now and then still let you know that it is a car tire.  I think that they all will.  I am presently running it at 38 psi just because it makes the tire a little rounder.  Just for grins, I just got through checking gas milage at 3k rpm and got 36.75mpg to my surprise...JTL

I just went to the Darkside for the first time last week. I went with a BFGoodrich Traction TA 205/65/16. I have a 99 standard. Cage mod was plenty and I have no trouble with any rubbing. I started at 35 psi. I had replaced the shocks with Interstate OEM six moths back and was informed that they are a bit firmer than standard so I ran them at a 2 setting and it felt great. After the car tire was installed I found the ride to be to stiff and felt a lot of the bumps in the road. Change the shock setting to 1 and lowered tire pressure down to 30. Much better  I weight in at 200 lbs and mostly ride solo. The handling is different with the car tire. "Different" not better or worse. I have only had a week of riding to form my opinion, but as of right now I like it. I am already getting used to the change and in 6 months I am sure I won't even think it is different LOL Last point, I was running a Avon Venom on the back and with the change to the car tire I have gained a little on the rpm, between 50 and 100 rpm less when cruising at 65 mph. At 65 mph it holds just below 3000 rpm

Could some of you post your cruising rpm at 75mph?   

rpm at 75 mph on the spedo is a smidgin over 3300 rpm (71 mph on the GPS).  That is with the 205/65/16 I am running...JTL
