Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

This ride pretty much started for me on thursday evening when Hal from Indiana showed up in my hometown. We rode over to the local bike night for supper and to check out the bikes and local rock band. The dude that owned this 1600 Beemer told me he could go to the bottom of the hill and do a wheelie through all six gears . I claimed " Bulls**t " on him and told him to go for it I'd love to take a few pictures . He pretty much would'nt have nothing else to say to me after I told him he was full of s**t.He did let me check it out just from sitting on it I don't think a long road trip would be that comfortable.

After leaving The Lube we hooked up with Gordon,Greg and Paul and took a ride through the much cooler night air around beautiful Norris Lake and the Clinch River.

We had a nice group show-up friday in Tellico Plains for the ride across Cherohala and The Blue Ridge Parkway.

Paul took a nasty bee sting to the ear on Cherohala we made a stop here to let him ice it down .

We hung out at Deal's Gap and had lunch then made our way on The Moonshiner 28 taking the long way to Maggie Valley for the night.

Saturday morning we hit the BRP again the weather was perfect I had a jacket on about half the day.

A few pictures from The Blue Ridge Parkway .

Rolled into the hook-up point for " The Meet In The Middle Ride " in Sparta ,NC .I'd like to thank all the riders that showed up in my group coming from the south heading north some great rider's in the group. I'd also like to thank the folks that rode with Mark from the north end heading south I enjoyed hangin' out with y'all and enjoyed the parking lot party at the motel.

Sunday we made our way back toward the house by way of The Snake

We rolled into Clinton,Tennessee yesterday evening I had no more than parked my bike and stepped  in the house when the rain started and it's not stopped since in fact we are under flash flood warnings until tuesday evening.

" The Money Shot " not like my normal but words we could all live with. This sign is on The Shady Valley Country Store at the cross roads of The Snake.

Hey Joe... I forgot to post these pictures... I'll put them here, I know you
like the Linn Cove viaduct as much as I do... by luck, my camera was turned on
when we went across...

You can see it like this on the approach, but you'd have to stop in the middle of
the road to get this shot with a Valkyrie in the foreground...

we missed you guys somehow? We got on the Parkway about 1045-1050.....near Asheville...and stopped at the HQ visitor center for about 30 minutes from 11-1130 or so. Then we went on to the highest point...getting there about 115 or so. you didn't see about 30 Runes go by.....did ya'?

We were probably at the Highest Point at 9:30 or 9:45. Maybe we passed you in one of those
tunnels  Wink

Joe,

Did you ever tell them how they hung the elephant in Erwin?  Great campfire story.

Yes I've made a couple ride reports about the hunt for Muderous Mary over the years . We ride through Erwin several times a year . Best we can figure Mary is buried just outside the railroad yard near the station.
