Amazing pictures of waterfalls in Croatia got only 166 views so far

Annoying Phrases that piss me off is over 1000

Political threads are well viewed in spite of statements by some that they
are ignoring this or that person

This proves a long ago theory that people will choose to rip something apart
before they will stop to appreciate beauty

Unless it is one of my secretary audition threads.

of course

Paul that 1st pic is my desktop background now  Thanks again

Remember when riding to stop and smell the roses, or enjoy the chill as you pass a hidden stream

I just looked at the pictures, they made me investigate whether or not you could swim there: nope.

A lot of stuff has happened there...

Keep in mind that some people only come here for arguments.

It's really nice when you take the time and effort to share a ride with pictures . The ride reports will hit page ( 2 ) within a hour while some political horses**t that's been beat to death on here will stay on page ( 1 ) for days....Sad times we live in when after-all this is a motorcycle forum  Sad

That is why I don't post ride reports (with or without pictures). I have found the few times that I have, you get a few courtesy responses... not worth the time (especially with pictures). I used to post them more on a Shadow board I was on - but learned the lesson there as well.

For example, I just did an Ironbutt x2 on Tuesday and Wednesday... once around Lake Michigan and once around Lake Huron. No pictures (couldn't press the camera button with such thick gloves on (a story right there)), but still would make for a somewhat interesting tale... even though I have nowhere the writing skill of a Mr. Meyer. But, why type for 20 minutes when it gets shuffled down the page faster than it took to type it.

But alas, I can be found guilty of the same thing ... I look at pretty much all of the ride reports and most of the time don't respond to them. Do enjoy them though.

As far a the political stuff... I read it, even though it is pretty much the same crap over and over. I don't get involved in those either, but I know why I don't when it comes to that. With what I do for a living ( police), the last thing I want to do when I get on a message board is argue with people... and don't even get me started on the anti-police crap spewed here regularly.

But then again, what do I know...  Lips Sealed

Those photographers who do that are artistes and they mash one of those
f-stop/Aperture/thingamabob buttons that none of the rest of us even know where
to find right before they take the shot, and it makes the water look all glisteny
like that...

Hope you will reconsider I for one really enjoy the ride reports...I took many pictures at InZane and everytime I started  to post a report the board would be covered in political bulls**t so I'd wait....Pretty soon it was too late to worry about as InZane was long gone  Undecided

Shes thinking that you want a pic of her boobs instead of looking at the waterfall? I mean, you KNOW the water will go down...................

BTW, the waterfall pics were cool.

My observation is this:

I do read all the threads including the political ones.  No big deal.

Ride reports are great...keep them coming.

The best part of coming to this forum for me is helping each other solve technical issues with our bikes.

I rode to the Blue and the Gray a few years ago and had a great time. My first InZane was excellent too.

I can't imagine not ever going to an InZane and riding a Valkyrie. I rode 5000 miles round trip by myself and thoroughly enjoyed everyone's company at Shanty Creek. It was worth it.

People tell me ,all the time, that I am not in the same reality that they are. I do not quit,or shuddup,or change who I am for the masses. Why would anyone here do it either ?  Post the ride reports, talk about the greasy spoon diner you like to ride to,hwy numbers you love to ride or even send pictures of your grand kids here !  If the majority wants to reply elsewhere they WILL do it. I think what you post (especially any thread you start) says alot about who you are and what interests you. Even if it is a hijacked thread I learn something about the hijackers interests. The general board it just to get to know one another and I think we do a GREAT job of that with so many different topics. Conversation here changes quickly and no one is forced to sit and listen to any of it. The more you post, the more it is your ballgame, even if it is all about your state,or your windshield or how hot your secretary pool is !

Just be YOURSELF......That's why I come here. To read about who you really are.            cooldude cooldude   Cool

I for one love the ride reports and get to see many parts of the country that i have never been too.
When i read a report and it has some information about a place i would like to go i save it in my bookmarks and plan a trip to that spot i have been to alot of places that ya'll go to in the south and loved the ride and the meet ups when they happen. What better way to see this great country than from other bikers who have traveled the roads and can tell ya about them and the people they have met along the way.

Threads are positioned on the list by who replied most recently, not necessarily by how many people read or enjoyed the thread.  Keep in mind that one or two individuals who keep posting or going back and forth on one of those ridiculous political wranglings can keep the thread at the top of the list.

Perhaps one of the issues is that we often read stuff we enjoy or think is nice and it stops there with us.  That is to say we just think that's nice and move on.  What we probably should do is leave a reply even if it just says, "Thanks," or has the thumbs up emoticon.  That would bring that particular thread back to the top for someone else to see.

We also, knowing there's a lot of scum on the surface of the pond, could dip down a little deeper, maybe go to the second or third page to begin our reading.  I personally page down until I find the oldest thread of which I haven't yet seen the end and then move back through the "previous" links.  I don't expect everyone to do that, but I need to.

It's an unfortunate reality in public conversations that the ones having the least amount of something meaningful to say are the most prolific contributors.

Wouldn't it be nice if a lot more of our friends were a little more like E. F. Hutton?

Two observations - well, actually 3, but the last one would get my post kicked.

1) As was mentioned, 166 views is probably 166 different individuals. 1000 views, is perhaps 100, having 10 views, each, or even 10, having 100 views each. I don't put much stock in the numbers. It IS sad that so many decent posts get quickly relegated to the "back pages".  I read a ride report. Once. I don't subscribe.

2) there's a very simple way to avoid 99% of this, if not more. It would be so very simple to have separate forums, one for bike related, and one for political/etc related. Period. We have a separate tech, and separate classified. It would be so easy to have a forum strictly for bike-related, and one for "anything goes". Now, we just seem to have one for "anything goes". This is the ONLY forum I have EVER seen (and I've seen a LOT), that doesn't have it set up that way. Personally, I'd prefer having my bathroom separated from the kitchen.

Oh well - doubt it will ever happen...
