.308 and 30.06 will just have to do.

Though someone is coming out with a .300 Win Mag in an AR10 platform that looks interesting.

Is .50 BMG that much money now? Last time I shot it I recall paying about $1.75ea but they were reloads.

And as cool as the Barrett is it is overkill for pretty much anything besides taking out armor and we don't do a lot of that here. I can think of much better guns to blow that kind of money on.

My .308 M1A has been more than adequate to do every job I've asked of it. I'm not a professional hitman, so as long as I can hit a man size target at 300 yds with iron sights, I'm good.

Once you have a BMG in the gun cabinet you can move on to other fun toys and stop worrying about practicality or more powerful rifles. Practicality means nothing anymore and if you need more firepower you might want to rob a bank first!
