We went to Mt. Mitchell Saturday and thought I'd post  a few pics for those who haven't seen it. It is the highest peak east of the Mississipi...first time I was in the clouds and not in a airplane. 2funny

Yeah, I don't know what's happening. They looked good when I previewed but now see the blue circle with the line in it and have no idea what that means except no pics! I may try again when i figure out the circle.

Good pics on my end. How cold was it when you were there? I was there a few years ago and it was HOT on the BRP but 46* up on MT Mitchell. This was in June that I was there (not this year)

It was in the low 70'S about an hour away but on the mountain it was high 50's according to my thermal clock(didn't see the actual temp), that will teach me not to bring a jacket next time!! Lol!  2funny

I actually posted two more pics and don't know what the blue circle with the line in it between the pics mean.

Hey T, looks like you rolled your bars forward like I did with mine (before putting the drag bars on). Much more comfy than the stock position.

Hey Big T, Looks like you figured out the little blue circles. Looks like you had a great ride. Nice pics. Thanks for taking the time to post them up, rather than giving up when it did not work out the first time. cooldude

BTW, that's a beautiful Blue and Cream Valk you have there. I love that color combo.

Yes it was beautiful. Your weren't too far from it where we met. Maybe we can all put a ride together, I've been there so many times the rangers know my name! Grin

We were there in early August, and lemme tell ya, it may have been warm down lower, but up at the top of Mt. Mitchell, it was downright chilly!!

Lookout at the top (that stone pillar is actually a grave):

Here's the plaque on it:

I hope you can make it. I plan to go if there is no ice and it should be beautiful! I also plan to go again this fall and when all the leaves are off the trees. We took a lot of video but the trees blocked a lot of beautiful scenery. Like to have you with us if you want to go next time.

I don't have a piece of heated gear and am not going to start buying now, so I guess I'll just have to shake rattle and roll New Years! 2funny

I don't have a piece of heated gear and am not going to start buying now, so I guess I'll just have to shake rattle and roll New Years!

I showed up at Resaca, Ga, at the end of March to meet up with some guys to go to Texas. It
was about 40 degrees, but it was misting on me, and kind of foggy, all through the North Georgia
mountains. I was freezing and my toes were like popsickles when I got to Resaca... the other guys
had on their heated clothes... I wanted to choke them. It will likely be quite a bit cooler than 40
on a Kiss My Ice ride  coolsmiley

Toes like popsickles??  2funny 2funny Say a bit cooler? Probably the chill factor will put it well below zero! Then again maybe we'll luck up and have a extra mild day like 60*.  coolsmiley
