I was in a local bike shop and they said it would definetly take the blue off my pipes. I've tried everything including semi chrome with no luck. It is pricey but does it work? Has anyone tried it? If you check out the Mt. Mitchell post on this page, you'll see how bad my pipes are. If it really works I'd pay twice as much! Thanks, Tony Correction: I posted the name incorrectly and the name is Blue-Job with a 100% money back guarantee. It is a dry powder that you add water to and make a paste. I just find it too good to be true!

just commenting....yes you have blue pipes. Im not sure you can cure that situation. single wall pipes turn blue easily. also you may be running a bit lean. new jets maybe are in order?
nice pictures you posted.

I have tried Blue Away, but it was a long time ago, and they may have changed it some. The results were mixed, depending on the degree of bluing. Sad part is that the blue comes back. As others have said, single walled pipes and condition of tune ... I actually had equally good luck with an Amway SS cleaner made for pots and pans. Don't know if they still make it, but the only issue is that is has some abrasive (though very fine) and I would not recommend it in extrememly obvious (flat, lot's of reflection) area.

Honestly, those are blue enough I believe you'd be down to bare metal before you got all the bluing off.
Unless you're Smokin Joe that's just the way Cobras look.

I used White Diamond Polish to take the blue off my Two Brothers 6x6 pipes. Did a great job Then within several days of riding, the blue was back. A whole lot of elbow grease wasted in that effort. They're still blue and hanging in the Beehive

I choose to like it, looks like POWER to me Yes, tried it...no, didn't work. Maybe a little. VERY little, after a LOT of elbow grease. And mine are stock double-walled pipes. As for power, I agree...

Thanks Greg, the guy I bought it from said he "thought the original owner rejetted" when he put the Cobras on so I really don't know. The plugs look great, real nice tan color and the exhaust looks a tad sutty. BTW, thanks for posting the pic!

That's the serect Rivco header shields....Nolonger made This one has painted headers...1500 degree stove paint I do have to touch-up from time to time. This one has ceramic coated headers I had them done about 10 years ago the cost at that time was $155.00 . These still look great and was money well spent IMO....I love the sound of the Cobra's and nothing in IMO sounds better on the fat girl.

That's just my luck, aways a day late or a dollar short and in this case too many days late! Do you know if anybody else makes them? I like those ceramic headers- I guess if I wait long enough mine might turn from blue to black!

Big Mike had some used Rivco header shields at InZane this year for sale that's where I got mine as well from him a few years ago....Be prepared for sticker shock www.valkyrieblingandmore.com It might be better to send a e-mail or call him as everything he has for sale is not on his website....You can get his number from the vendor banner at the top of the VRCC boards.

If you stop washing the bike the blueing is not nearly as noticeable.

Not a clear on shot, but mine are gold. I guess that means I need to paint my bike yellow to match. The story goes: aftermarket pipes put on, but carbs not jetted, discoloring took place, next owner changed it back to stock exhaust and added long pipes to quiet and move sound back past the wife. I've seen what a few of you have done and I think I like the stove black treatment the best. Though I can't tell much with the ceramic, but if it holds without retouch that would be worth the time and effort.

I'm leaning in that direction myself.
