Lights went out twice in a month period.  First time thought bulb went bad. Second time started me searching. Found the problem right away wire lose at soddered joint. Fixed that with correct fitting
turned key now nothing on either light. Shyt thats not good. Checked the wiring w/ voltmeter no power to either light. Back to relay and fuse, fuse blown. Went to Autozone picked up a  relay.  Relay installed new fuse in. (Not sure relay was nessary). Still no lights. Skipped  relay direct to Aux. light wires they lite right up. Started messing with switch no power to this either  tryed new switch  still nothing  tried running a new wires to everything thinking something was wrong in the wire.  these lights have been on my valkyrie for 8 yrs never a problem. Dont know what kind they are they came with the bike. Any Suggetions would be great? Im lossing it after 3 days of trying to figure this out
  Thank you

I assume you're talking about extra driving lights on a light bar or similar. Do you have power to the relay? It's also possible you bought the wrong type of relay, they're not all the same. Some are N/O, meaning "Normaly Open" when not energized. Others are N/C, or...Normally Closed, just the opposite function. You want the first kind, open when not energized, closed when voltage is applied. And, you want the entire setup to be totally separate from your headlight circuit.
