The UARS is falling ! The UARS is falling!
I just can't stop thinking about the SNL skit with the late John Belushi carrying on about "Skylab"

I worked on that Satelitte...many moons ago...launched in 91...Upper Atmospheric Research Satellite...was originally designed to last between 8 and 10 years....and researth the hole in the ozone over the north pole. At the time it was the largest sat to launch in the shuttle.

Just thought I would share...and 8 years later I bought my valk...so now it is related.  Grin

Since they put these things up there, why in all of creation don't they put a self destruct mechanism on board.

It would break it up in small pieces that would most likely just burn up.

No not NASA, we have to sit here and wait for the darn thing to impact.

Ain't no big deal they say.

What if the thing lands on a elementary school or a Nuke Plant.

Then what is the plan.

What a bunch of smart Dumarses we have in the Space Program.

Then again it could land on the IRS.

My day just got better.,
