Clamp upgrade

It's said you can improve tire longevity by 30%. Any feedback on cost Est, $600 versus results would be appreciated.
 I've read post's about Avon tire's lasting as long as 24,000 miles. Is that without any change to the bikes front end?

I just replaced my front Avon Venom @ 19K. It was junk, negative  effects on handling, to the point where the front end wobble was occurring although it still had plenty of tread depth.
Went with the E3, my first one. It's nice to have the handling back again.

if your talking about a fork clamp, like for the goldwing,  no one makes one for the valk.

On one old Avon Venom, I got 27K with no problems. 24K is more normal. My trick is to keep the front pressure up to 42 at all times. My first Cobra (front) is almost gone. It has 20 K on it now and still has a little life left.

Anyone can and WILL sooner or later get a bum tire, even Avon Cobras.  I've been using Avons (Venoms) for many years and went to Cobras as soon as they replaced the Venoms.  That would be about 195K miles on Avons. Yes, I've had a couple of either beyond spec out-of-balance and/or out of round tires and either of those conditions with ANY tire will produce very undesirable handling.  Avon has never charged me an "adjustment" fee for a replacement tire.  In-fact they even paid a dealer one hour labor to R & R and balance the replacement tire.  My ride is a bone stock '97 Tourer which is now at 242K.  For approx. the first 50K I used a variety brands and always averaged between 10 and 12K on the rears and 14 to 16K on the fronts.  My vary first set of Avons  delivered 16K on the rears and 20K on the fronts.  Now-a-days, with Cobras,  I average 18 to 20K on the rear and 28 to 30K on the front at (on average) 40 PSI.  The Valkyries do not need any type of after-market front end supports.  Just follow the proper mounting procedures for both the front and rear tires.

Chet says it changes the handling considerably. something I don't want. the Val, is a joy to ride as is. I like to spend all day,any day rolling, so as long as I can get a decent amount of miles out of a set of tires I'm good
Where is the best place to get tires? I ordered new valve stems from Jake Wilson, (didn't like what I read here about the stock ones) they have great customer revues with regard to tire purchases but I will be putting more stock in the opinions of the club members than a anonymous revue.

someone does (or did) my bro has one on his valk. because of the inverted forks i don't see that the clamp does a thing for his valk. but if you really want one, go to the book and look at one for a vtx 1800 - same front end i believe. but terry says he feels zero difference with the clamp. made a world of difference on a goldwing, but they have conventianal forks.

Tires usually in stock, good price, free shipping. Now that I have the capability to change my own tires they will be getting my business.  
Avons & Metzlers are what I prefer.
