I am not looking to buy them, just that they look good, but my question is -- What are you giving up if you use them?

I do not think you're giving up anything by purchasing the rotors.

The slots help cooling and I believe they do not increase wear-out.

I'm not liking the black centers however.

I might be wrong but I'd bet they're Chinese made.
Slotted and petal type rotors are the hot set-up for sportbikes, so they may work fine.

I'd say you're right Momz.
Galfer sells a similar rotor for about 500.00 a pair. The identical (in appearance) item can be had on Ebay for 120 or 130 a pair.
No doubt in my mind that Galfer had their rotors made in China to save some bucks. Then it took the Chinese about a Shanghai minute to start selling knockoffs.
Are they as good? Are they made of the same metals? Maybe,  maybe not; I'm pretty sure there are no laws in China covering what materials to use when making illegal knockoffs of patented prducts.

One of the guys on the PDC ride just put them on his '97 Standard. He claimed they worked well, but we won't know about longevity for a while.
