Okay I bought a carb rebuild kit from redeye and I am mising a few gaskets and I cannot seem to find them anywhere. I need six of these mysterious gaskets. I don't know exactly what they are called so I will attempt to describe them. These are on the carb assy opposite the float side there is a black cover held on by 4 small phillips screw and a alluminum stack coming out of the center.  The o ring is located under the black plate and has three small rubber tabs underneath the aluminum stack. If that decription works for you please tell me what they are called so I can get them ordered.thx

Danny,

You don't give any bike info, but all the carb stuff should be the same.

Have a look at this link and pick the number that is the gasket you're looking for:

Danny I have done a lot of these carbs and never change out that rubber gasket as you are calling it. That is just on the vertura side and unless they are destroyed I would not replace them.

Wild guess here,   I'd say he is referring to #2 in the picture.

By the way buddy, the link does work.  I just came from it.

If it is #2, that's what I call a float bowl gasket, and if they're left alone, they're usually OK, but if someone tried to remove them, or left them in place during a chem dip, they'll need to be replaced.  I haven't been into my fat lady's carbs, but every other Honda Keihin carb I've torn down, the only things with 4 screws was the float bowl and the slide cover.

When you say the stealer couldn't find it, were you referring to the part # or if any dealer close by had one?

If it was part # 2

No when I was on the line with the stealer he told me to buy a carb rebuild kit...I told him that I already did and he was pretty much lost from there. I don't like the dealer here in Tucson too much.

Ok.  If you'll look at where the little "#2's" are scattered throughout that diagram, all of those parts are included in that part number.

You may have better luck (and better pricing) if you go somewhere other than stealer.  I had dug up a couple of websites that deal with just things like that a while ago, but can't seem to find them now.

Finally drive down there and spoke with the dealer employee...found the gasket culprit and you were correct again only comes in the kit with all the other o rings and such. Need to find a place that sells just those larger gaskets. Ill start looking around if anyone has run into this before and can point me in the right direction that would be great other wise I am spending another 80 plus bucks for to use like 6 of 60 peices in these kits.

No I got those in the kit....what I need is on the opposite ....or almost....side of the carb. Oring under a black plate with a aluminum stack coming out of the center. Thx for looking though...I have not been able to find it as a single...think I am going to have to buy a factory carb kit with these gaskets. Atleast I will have extras others for tuning and tweaking later.

Not sure why you bought the whole kit when you were given 2 links to buy them individually. You will have extras I guess.

No that's not the case I could not find the gaskets individually...all the links were either for the kits (take a good look) or for individual float bowl gaskets. I do not need the float bowl gaskets. And since I cannot find the one gasket by itself I have to buy the kit...unless I missed something but I took another look and came to the same scenario.  I appreciate everyones help especially to the person who found the kits for 11 buck as I was able to get a price match and lower shipping cost to help save cash. Now just have to wait untill Tuesday...which is alright because I still am working on getting the carbs back together and onto the bike....looks like I can still change those gaskets out if I just leave off the air box. My tank should be finished on Monday.  New pingle is in. Hopefully Tuesday for the first sputters of life from this flat girl!

Thx

My bad. When you said you had to buy the whole kit, I assumed you meant the whole carb rebuild kit. It appears you have to buy six of the gaskets you want. 11 bucks aint bad! I'm currently rebuilding a spare set of carbs and I know it can be a pain.
