Don't know about across the pond, but in the US it will remain as originally titled.
Maybe I should clarify that. In all of the states I have lived in that is the way it was.
Some people over here have taken actual cars, wrecked ones of course and converted them into Trikes. They carry a different title. The reason for that is, it is going from an automobile to a motorcycle. Most of them are Motorcycle remanufactured. I'd suggest you go to your DMV and inquire from them.
Good luck.

In most states, a 3 wheeler is classed as a motorcycle. Therefore, converting one to a trike does not change the title. Your state does not even know it was done.
Same with my sidecar setup. Insurance for the sidecar, it is covered as an accessory. You just need to add more accessory coverage to the mc. I asked about a trike,,and that is the same.
Now, where you live it may be different.

Jean My trike is a Triwing conversion, made in Canada. As others have stated, the title is unchanged from the original. I think this is pretty much the norm in the US, so if you were to purchase one in the states and import it to France, the title would say "Motorcycle". Hope that is some help. Stan

Ah ah ah, it's very fun to find Jean here with a good idea. I'm French too and want to have a US trike too for my wife, maybe someone could tell me if it's possible in US to drive a Trike with a "Car" driving licence like in France or is it only avalaible with a "Motorcycle" one?

Jean the Black Wolf, in my state, if you are only going to ride a trike, they will license you as such. My daughter has a full fledged bike license. Wife is only authorized on a Trike. It is a BIG one also. Any one with a motorcycle license is also licensed to ride it. 390 cubic inch Chevy. Started life as a 350 truck motor. Has been bored out to water and steel sleeved back to .090 over size. Then changed out the 350 crank for a 400 crank, rods, and forged pistons, that equal 390 cubes now. It will haul the mail. Turns the 1/4 mile in just under 14 seconds, don't remember the speed. It was around 100 MPH.
