Well.....I've been thinking of adding to my stable for a while now.....and with the recent need to lose some weight, I figured now was as good a time as any....this will help with my exercise routine.....

She's a real beauty.....a Huffy Cruiser......got her all loaded up for the ride home......

I made sure the kickstand was up per RJ's orders..... cooldude

She's a Huffy Deeeeeluxe model......

With the extra padded seat(for us Big Boys)...... cooldude

She comes with a set of FAT whitewall tires.....26 x 2.35?.......I'm gonna run 50psi in the front, and 52psi in the rear(to support MY ample rear)......

She also comes with front storage room......aka a basket(very handy)

She also has a nice cup holder.....which I moved to the other side in order to install a new speedo, fat/calorie, and temp gauge.....

She comes with an adjustable rear luggage rack......

I'm not sure the Boss is convinced that she's a keeper??....... Cheesy

You think I'm properly geared up to ride her?.....I think I need a lighter helmet and some shoes...... Undecided Undecided cooldude Cheesy

I added a water bottle and a new bike lock in case I need to park her somewhere to keep the hooligans from carrying her off..... cooldude

I've been walking 3.5/4 miles 3-4 days after work to help lower my borderline sugar counts.....it must work, since every sugar reading was either 82 or 89 after my walk and before supper each time.....I've also cut way back on the sugar filled drinks and have already gone from 226 lbs down to 209 lbs in just a couple of weeks.......

I figure this old Girl will get about 2 miles to the chili dog.....and maybe 3-5 with a large chili burger or bowl of chili........ cooldude cooldude

And she also runs SMOOTH.....like the other Fat Girl....... cooldude Cheesy Grin

laugh  very nice.  i had to ride a similar, not at all as pretty, hand-me-down back in the day to school.  they're not that easy to peddle for the long haul.  it'll be a good workout bike.

Salmon Color andI love Salmon in just about any form.

Kinda reminds me I think I will eat a doughnut or maybe some taffy.

Boy those Potato Chips are sounding good as well.

I have been walking again up at Norris Dam.

2.5 mile loop and at this point even the ladies with strollers are beating me up.

I 'll show them because I have been spreading bacon grease in the turns so they will spin out next time they come by me so fast.

UUUUUUUUUhm Bacon. Pan Cakes Sasusage, Man I am hungry now.

I better go walk.

I had a seat like that on my old Schwinn Cruiser. The one I have on my Giant patrol bike is not nearly as cushy and it's considered quite comfy by bicycle standards.

Stanley, always ride downhill, it is much easier.

Good lookin ride but I think you had overkill on the straps.

Tire pressure, isn't 32 on the tire?    Don't go over that, or you will have a problem.     Will need a tube and maybe a tire.

When ya get up to 50 miles a day, then ya got it made.

If you should happen to reach that, then you can come up here and ride in RAGBRAI in July.   It starts on Sunday and ends on the other side of Iowa on Saturday.

RAGBRAI = Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.

Here is a link to the 2011 ride.

I actually READ most of the manual that came with the bike and 50psi was the max pressure....it rides smooth with that spring loaded seat on it.....

When I was about 17-18, I rode from the Northwest corner of Ga to the the Southeast corner ending up in Savannah.....a trip of around 350 miles in 5 days....~avg 70 miles a day.....on a 10 speed.....it was with my HS Girlfriend and her parents to promote her Dad's new book "Cycling Through Georgia Tracing Sherman's March"....that was ~ 1987-88?.......it was fun since we had a lot of the little towns giving us the "Key" to their City....

I only strapped her up for the pics.....the guy had laid her down on her side for the ride home.... cooldude Cheesy

I bought a 27 speed Specialized hybrid bike about 6 years ago.  I thought that i could do what I did when i was 17, NOPE!  The air filter was clogged, the connecting rods were loose, and the cam was flattened, just didn't work.

I was completely unhappy with the power to weight ratio too.  The lowest gear still wouldn't spin the tire.

I went back to walking.  Big Al has the right idea.

Nice bike Stanley. I bought one and when I got it home found out there was no motor and I was expected to pedal it??? Well, it had to go at that point! Seriously, I am happy to hear of anyone who tries to improve their health habits. Some of us wait until it's too late and realize what we have done to ourselves. Don't let it be a passing fad though, keep at it as you can already see the benefits taking place. Is that a single speed bike? Best Wishes. Hef

Stanley - should you get serious about pedaling - you can't pedal very far sitting on the mussels you're gonna pedal with & you will eventually get used to a narrow seat.

She is a single speed bike.....has the coaster brake only.....hope it stops my fat @ss on a hill??..... Cheesy

I like that seat...it's soft and springy and rides like a dream.......and yes Fudgie, I put her on the trailer instead of stuffing her into the back...didn't want to scuff her or the Kia up....I'll buy or build me a bike rack for the 2" receiver before I carry her out of town......and No Thom, I won't be bringing her to the FCR....I can see someone trying to set up a ramp at the bottom of the hill for me to jump....I bet the spokes would fold up like a cheap tent on the first jump!!////// cooldude Cheesy Grin

You can show the bike is not pink if you get a pink riding suit and wear it while riding.
