If you've ever seen this bike up close ( it was at both InZane's and Dragons Over The Smoky's in Johnson City, Tennessee )   then you know it's one of the nicest paint job's ever on a Valkyrie in my opinion as it was flawless. Charlie hit some hard times in life and now Rico has his bike for sale . I'd love to bid on this however with ( 3 ) Valkyries I don't need another....Just posting with hopes one of our members scores this beautiful machine.

To say Charlie "hit some some hard times" is an understatement.

Thanks for the heads-up, Joe. I will be watching this one.
Rico is about 10 miles east of me.

He had a great talent when it came to painting I saw some of the street rods he painted and they was awesome. He told me in Johnson City he had a list of 20 plus cars and bikes waiting on him to paint.Damn shame what happened and then to lose a son in a motorcycle crash was just another blow...I liked Charlie and did some dealing with him in the early days of the Valkyrie.

Yes, it's a beautiful bike and trailer but I'd have a real difficult time owning/riding it. Too many good memories of time spent with him. We traveled together a few times, spent nights & days in his home and with his family. We had some good times together and he is missed. As for talent, most definitely. He had a wall full of trophies and pictures of all the various rides he built and painted. He also did some painting for me and what I found amusing was no matter how good it looked, he'd look at it two weeks later and point out flaws I didn't or couldn't see. The day he bought the special paint used on the bike I was blown away by the cost; something like $800/gallon. He only needed a fraction of that amount but it still cost him well over $100 and wasn't even a quart. To say the paint job on that bike is special is an understatement.

I wish him the best.

I know this is a foolish question?  What would be a fair price for this bike? I sent the guy question
about a buy it now price. No response from him yet. Watching it on ebay now and I have a price
in mind, just asking the experts on this board.

It's an auction.  There's no reason for the seller to post a buy-it-now unless he's concerned the bidding won't go his way and hasn't the patience to wait it out.

Place your bid.  If someone wants it more than you do then he'll go home with it.

It's a one of a kind custom.  It's value is based solely on how much someone wants to own it.  I would pay enough for it to satisfy the seller.  I ride too much and would be afraid to own something that nice that could get nicked or scratched.  For someone who truly wants to own a Valkyrie that nice it should be a pricey item.

That's my opinion.

I remember the time he was buffing out your fairing, he had you put on a garbage bag and hold it down.
I wonder if I took any pics that time ?  Evil

I certainly hope not! I remember he was using some kind of compound and when he turned on the buffer it splattered anyone/anything within ten feet, and especially me. I jokingly accused him of using an excess amount just so he could get me real good....which he did until I put on the plastic bag.  Cheesy

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here. I don't know Charlie or what he is going through, but I had an idea that maybe we could all pitch in and buy his bike from him and then turn around and donate it back to him. I've got a few bucks that I could pitch in. Let me know what you think.

Didn't sell due to reserve. Is he relisting it. Never understood why people with a price in mind don't just set that as a buyitnow or starting price.  Roll Eyes

15k YIKES...I know his bike and no doubt he's got allot of goodies hung on it. That doesn't make it worth more for re-sale. He can put out a quality paint job, but not my taste. I'd prefer a clean stock paint job. That's money you won't get back on re-sale either. Someones really gotta fall in love it and be a
"must have it"  emotional buyer.

That bike and trailer sure is a keeper......   cause he really isn't wanting to sell it anyhow.  He just wants that special someone that wants it bad enough to buy it from him at his price.   I can admire that line of thinking, and wish him well.  It could help keep the selling prices of Valk's up there some.  But, with so many others selling much cheaper .... for various economic or health reasons, I think he is just going to be stuck with it.

That Red/Black IS recently sold for a nice low price....
