Having traveled the Arizona portion of Route 66 many times on both my Valk and in a vintage Chevy, I can say that you did a good job of capturing the essence of the road as well as the businesses both open and closed that are along that route.  I hope you enjoyed meeting all the characters.  We stay in the Wigwam whenever we are in Holbrook.

Thanks for posting that link.

Excuse my ignorance.

Are these photoshop or hand drawn?

Well, these are examples of High Dynamic Range Photography.    Basically, it involves taking multiple images shot in raw format at different exposures of the same scene, and then combining them with software.  It creates a very unique look.

Some of those route 66 pictures bring back memories, the first shot of the road going over the hill, been there several times. And the diamonds restaurant used to go there many years ago. I still have friends in Villa Ridge and visit there every couple years. Really like the site.  cooldude cooldude

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Hey Steamer.....

For some strange reason, when I awoke early Monday morning, I decided to check my intended route again.  After not knowing exactly where I was going to stay, and determining Robbinsville was about the same mileage, I decided on Robbinsville.  (As was my plan of Tue/Wed night)......Big mistake!!
Worst day weather wise.  Had I stuck with my plan, I would have been dry.  But I still made Athens, and then East to Wahalla SC.

Great town Athens is.  Hope to see more sometime!!
