National Light Bar spotlight bulbs

My 5 month old new light bar lost the left spot today To my surprise the H3 is a standard stock bulb at the auto store except the OEM was 35w all O'reily's had was 55w. No big deal took it and now back in business. Actually now thinking about replacing the right with 55w when it goes out.

Just my.02 but watch the wiring and reflector/lens with your bulb upgrade. There's probably a reason there was a 35 watt bulb there to begin with.

I have the National light bar with 100 watt halogen bulbs in them. THe lights are way brighter than my head light. I went to the local auto parts and bought a relay with that came with all the wiring and a L E D on/off push button switch. The bulbs have not hurt the lenses and I have had them in there for about 10 years now. Just make sure you USE A RELAY

Had the same problem with mine, but I don't think the blubs lasted 2 months. Been using the 55w ever since without a problem, and the spots outshine the headlight.

Here is another super good bulb.     I blew one of my spots many many moons ago, and I wandered all over hell looking for a good bright bulb.

Warlock in Mississippi put on the trail of these.     Bought a pair and they are on if the key is on except when I hit the starter or manually turn them off.

The spotlights are GE H7616 they only use 36.5 watts and put out 70000 CP. Lights up the road very well.

Use a Relay.

I sure am using a relay triggered by the accessory circuit and a separate switch. Power to the lights from its own fuse off the battery.

I looked at the superbritght LED site for this H3 in LED. There are only recommended for daytime driving lights, not for headlight use at night. They have a disclaimer posted. Has anyone found another LED replacement source for these?

RJ, Is this GE a light bulb like the H3 with a wire or a whole spot light that fits inside the spot light bucket ring?
