Hello Everyone I am moving from Georgetown Texas to Kingman Arizona. I have two Valks both 97's, one with a voyager kit. My wife wanted a motorcycle with training wheels. I will be living in the Valle Vista area. Looking foward to meeting some other local motorcycle riders in the area.

Rick,
Welcome to AZ. Kingman is a great place and you are within striking distance of Phoenix or Sin City. For some great rides you are not far away from Oatman or Flagstaff or Sedona or the Grand Canyon or any number of places that provide great riding. Kingman has some interesting history which you will probably get to know. Andy Devine was born there and their main street is named after him but then you probably already know all about that. There are numerous Route 66 vintage car and motorcycle cruises that go through that town on their way to California.
Kingman’s only drawback is it is very windy up there so be prepared to get thrown about a bit even on a Valk. Due to the consistent wind conditions there has been a lot of talk about building a wind farm for power generation though I do not know if they have started that project yet.
I’ll look forward to meeting up with you. We live in Scottsdale which is next to Phoenix but my lady and I do spend some time up there touring around.

Let me add Prescott AZ and Hwy Alt 89 through Jerome / Cottonwood. Oatman is a hoot.
Also in the winter Death Valley is an outstanding ride. Weather is cool and plenty of history there. If you like to ride, you are not far from some great California roads on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Great loop ride is Kingman to Hoover Dam then north to Zion National Park in Utah. East to the North rim of the Grand Canyon. The into Flagstaff, south to Sedona, over Mingus mountain to Prescott, the back to Kingman. It's a weekend ride but great scenery. I'd do it right after Memorial day when they get the North Rim open (Snow).

Unfortunately that is what many people think and they are partially correct. Actually over 40% of Arizona is above 4500ft elevation with about 10% of the state being over 6000ft elevation. I can be swimming in my pool in Scottsdale in the late Fall or early Spring with outdoor temps around 75 and look over the roofs of the houses at the snow in the mountains East of me. This is a great diverse state and I take every opportunity to get out on the bike enjoy it. Any rider who comes here for a visit never leaves disappointed unless they are not on a bike.

Yeah , welcome to the arid state , where there's on moisture to filter the intense sun , just an intense bright light all day long with no balance of clouds and sun. I am tired of the constant intense bright light , seldom a break from it . It's just toooo much .
Hey , I hear there's lot of meth houses in Kingman , and wind and a poorly run prison . Vegas is not far away , that's a fun thing , I think
