I found the how to on shoptalk, but what are you using as a replacement bulb? Also trim ring to shim or not?

Any auto parts standard 55/60 H4 bulb will work (all the way up to (off-road) 80 or 90/100.... which I ordered from Amazon, no auto parts had them in stock).

Clip the ears per shoptalk, and no you don't need the adapter rings (I have them but could barely get the bulbs in alone and could never get them all lined up with the rings).

Don't touch the bulb glass with fingers.

be careful if you get a large wattage bulb! they will pull more juice, and might melt your wires.  (i don't know this from expierence, just what i've heard)

don't waist your money on the trim ring, clip the tabs, it'll work, just make sure you're not trying to put them in up-side-down!!  i did that mistake with Oss's cycle and i still get reminded about it!!

by the way, i use HID lights, got 'em off of ebay for $15.

IS guys have been running 80/100 - 90/100 H4s for years with no heat or wiring issues.

Std/tourer's cannot.... without mods.

The fairing breathes very well, the bucket not so much.

I use the ST 9003 Sylvania Silverstars (or you can use Ultras if you like).  Nice and bright white IMO.  Available at Walmart I believe.... mine have been in for lil over 4 years and work great.  I did use the trim ring, but you can probably get away without it.

I've been running these for a couple of months now and I'm well pleased. They are the 90/100w and are noticeably brighter:

He sells them in smaller quantities but the 10 packs are the best deal.

I use the headlight rings and haven't had any issues with them, but the concensus here does seem to be that they aren't necessary.
