Good "underdog" type movie. I've watched it many times. Ya gotta admire a man who set a record in '67 that still stands today.  cooldude

Yeah, the "geezer sex" scene was, ummm... unfortunate. Coulda done without that.

20+ times a year. I ride or drive by the bonneville salt flats. Gas station at the (I-80)exit 4 there is a Cafe called the "Metro. This place has a ton bonnevile speedway memorabilia pictures mainly. A few of Burt Munro.
Last speed week in Aug. Stopped in there for a little lunch. Marviling over the cars and bikes. Started to talk to this couple they told me that they just took out there electric motorcycle and broke 200 mph. Thought that was pretty cool.  Never did ask who was riding it wonder if it was her?

Point well taken. Just because you've got the ear hair thing going on doesn't mean you and your lady can't enjoy a tussle. I do, but I can't do a comb-over with it yet.  Undecided  Nevertheless, I'm a little old-fashioned; no true gentleman kisses and tells. I think producers seem to feel an unshakeable compulsion to include sexy scenes in every film they make, regardless. I wonder if Mr. Munro would have approved the scene's inclusion. I like to think he wouldn't.
Still, a great film about determination and overcoming obstacles.

Geezer is as much a state of mind as it is chronological but we can start there.

I've got a ways to go myself.

For those of you who have not seen this movie, it is one of my favorite movies.   True Story.  I once read that Anthony Hopkins wanted the part so bad he took a paycut to do the movie.  He plays a great part.

This is one of my all time favorite movies, too.

In fact, I liked it so much I got a speeding ticket on the way home from the theater.

I've heard the age brackets defined like this:

50's -  duffer
60's -  codger
70's -  geezer
80's -  coot

Fastest Indian damn near had me in tears, one of the best
movies ever to be seen.

And he has at least one record that still stands, maybe no-one
wants to try to break it out of respect.
