I bought this air horn last year at a swap meet for $10.  I finally got it mounted, 99% plumbed and wired.  I bench tested it and it is loud, should be ready for the fall color ride, so don't cut me off!!!

I used an old truck AC condenser for an air tank because it has the low pressure switch that closes @ 40psi, and a Danmarc fuel solenoid wired to the horn button to dump the tank.  I run a 12v slime compressor off the 87a (normally closed) terminal on a relay wired to the low pressure switch.  When the tank pressure drops below 40psi, the compressor kicks on, when it hits 40psi the compressor kicks off.

You mounted a Valkyrie to an Air Horn?

That's a pretty big horn.

I had enough trouble trying to find a place to mount this one.  Thought about on the right side, which would have looked better, but got in the way of the foot brake, didn't think that was cool...

I used to have a set taken from a boat, found them in a used marine equipment shop in Daytona a few years back. Mounted them under my saddlebags on the Wing I had at the time, one on each side. Mounted the beer can sized compressors, one in each saddle bag. Longest trumpet was 19", the other 17". Sounded like a semi truck coming at you, didn't get ignored for sure...they were some kinda loud.

You bench tested it.   ???  Don't forget to test it on the bike before hitting the road.....I'd imagine each time the horn button is pushed the a$* end of the valk will jump 3 feet left.  Grin

Skinhead......

Can you tell me where you got those chromed lights on your license tag frame that you replaced the reflectors with?

Would there be an on-line source for those?

With a horn like that, I doubt you need a brake!

That looks about right from here. I have a friend who's a truck driver. He has the train horns mounted on his truck. Well he calls one night to tell me he's driving by my offramp and he wants to know if I can hear his new horns. 3/4 of  a mile away they were loud, clear and left no doubt he was going by

I got mine @ pepboys, they are LED trailer marker lights.  Should be able to find them anywhere on line, JC Whitney, NAPA, etc.
