My oldest daughter faxed me a copy of a newspaper article written about her and her cancer fight. It's done in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and was published in her local newspaper in Louisiana. They're running a different local story each week during the month, hers was the first one. I'd like to share it but the file is too big and has a couple errors in it I'd like to correct first.

So, does anyone have suggestions on how to convert to an editable file? I'm not adverse to buying the software if reasonable but so far I haven't found it...most are rather pricey. Plus, I don't have a constant need for it, but it is like a special tool that you need when need it, even if only once a year.

you should be able to open it in word and save it as a word document. try right clicking on the file a going to 'open with' and selecting word or office.

Check the adobe site, or some of the free downloadable adobe readers. acrobat.com should have that option available online at a modest charge.

Tim, when I open the document in Adobe and go to "file" it doesn't have an "export" listed. I have Windows 7.

You need full-blown Adobe for that. You are better off with a converter.

Hmmm, well...I've tried two or three online versions that let you try it a few times. They do convert to Rich Text format, which I've then saved in Word. But in either format I've been unable to do any editing. The article I referred to originally has some errors in it and I wanted to make the corrections in that document's original form. Guess I'll just retype it as in the past on other PDF stuff.
