ALL
I will be spending alot more time on this site over the next couple of Months. I fell from the combine and broke an ankle. Wife is being great but I do miss the bike already. I had my Brother in law take her to his house and get her ready for winter storage. I plan on living thru this group. I love the posts and pictures of rides you go on. I have only been a member for a couple of years but I really enjoy this group. I don't post often but I bet that will change. I am already looking forward to next years inzane. I guess I might be feeling a little sorry for myself but it could have been so much worse. I have not seen the Ortho surgeon yet so I might not want to say to much. Like I said Please post picturs of your adventures if you can find time. I for one really appreciate them. TBONE

I guess you and I are swapping places - I'm just recovering from knee replacement surgery and getting ready to ride the bike for the first time in 11 weeks. Good luck with your recovery, may it be complete and speedy.

Getting things srewed together is not a bad thing, saves problems later. Remember one thing tho, when they offer to take the screws out from the outer ball part of your ankle say YES. I did not and everytime I work in the garage without boots it digs into the cement and hurts.

Thanks for the well wishes. This is a great group of people. Hopefully I will have an Idea of recovery time after meeting with the doc tomorrow. Get out and enjoy the fall colors. Wife already told me we are going to take the fall trip we wanted to but in the car. I will take what I can get. Tbone

Just a suggestion... Which foot is hurt? If the right, you don't need the rear brake anyways. If the left...just set up a hand shift lever. If a guy like Bandit can ride a valk with 1 arm, I'm sure there's a way to ride with 1 foot. You're Welcome!

sorry to hear about the ankle...it will heal. I took out my Quad tendons awhile back, I remember what it was like not to be able to ride this great weather.

OUCH tbone. Wife broke her ankle in two places in April this year. She has a total of 11 screws and pins and a plate. Could not put any weight on it for about 5 weeks. Long road to be able walk w/o pain. Hope you fair better.

I've always wanted to drive a combine. I've never wanted to fall off it though. Speedy recovery for ya.

Sorry to hear this, Tbone, good luck with the sturgeons and all, and enjoy your color ride no matter what you're riding. Hope you heal quickly & completely, I can't imagine falling off a combine & only breaking an ankle. I'd have broken the combine for sure.

If you are tough enough to keep the farm going, a little orthopedic issue is just a minor set back. You will be back in the wind soon...It will only seem like forever. Valk riders are TOUGH!

The COLD and steel dont mix either! Barometric changes are bad enough with out having a direct link to the weather channel screwed into your bones!

all, Thanks for the posts. made me smile. Sorry I am just getty back on. Had Surgery and I think all went fine. 1st time under the knife for me and was a little nerve racking. The Nurses were great!!! The wife has been taking good care of me. I am laying around now just waiting to be able to get out and moving. Cabin Fever setting in real bad. Glad I have this forum. Allis, the comgine was red, Massey Fergusson. Pain pills seem to work well and I like to sleep alot. Trying not to get to bored so internet is now my friend, plus cable. Thanks to all the well wishes and I will try to keep you updated. I guess now would be a good time to have my Brother in law take the bike in to my trusty Mechanic and see what the vibration is. Took the tech sessions @ Inzane and have some good ideas. No reason not to get it taken care of and make sure it is ready for spring. Tbone
