Love 'em! cooldude

Just got done scrolling through Al's latest contribution.  That's what it's all about.

I'd love to see more of them from all over the country so jump on in.

Thanks to Joe and Al and Britman and Oss and everyone else who takes the time and effort to share their pictures and experiences with the rest of us.

Means a lot.

Yep  sure is fun posting and reading those reports

When I had the pleasure of meeting Chuck (Mr Arn) I encouraged him to start posting ride reports

same with the other chuck (westernbiker)  Glad they have been able to join in posting pics of their rides

Their posts of a part of our country most can not get to are a real pleasure

I wish when I was out in a car there I posted some videos coming into Sedona  going south on 89A  That my friends is one totally awesome part of the country I hope to see by motorcycle before my riding days come to an end

MY kodak camera that I mount to the valk is broken so I havent been doing much while moving I hope to remedy that real soon

Thanks for the acknowledgement to everyone that posts ride reports. I happen to agree with you, it is a refreshing change from the same old "politics this", "guns that". It is one of my favorite things on this board... living vicariously through other riders. It especially becomes that much more great when we are sitting here in NE Ohio in January in 5° weather with 10 inches of snow on the ground.

That being said, and I don't want this taken the wrong way by anyone here. AND I especially am not whining about it... but it has to be noted...

Last night I posted a ride report at about 9:30 pm. It had all the bells and whistles... good prose (I thought) and plenty of pictures included.

I don't know if most know what is involved in posting something like this... it takes a few hours to get it posted. First I had to go through about 100 pictures that my lovely wife took over 4 days to find some nice ones that help tell the story. Then those pictures, being huge, have to be resized to 800x600 so they show up nice and don't take forever to upload/download. After this, upload them to Photobucket. With my last one even had a short video... had to edit that, recompile it, and then upload it to You Tube so it can be directly seen in the message.

Only after that does the writing and linking to photos begin...

Again, I know pretty much everyone appreciates it, but after all this...

161 views (of which 10 are mine to make sure that it looks ok... all the picture links worked, corrections to grammer/spelling/etc., and viewing responses)

It was on Page 2 in less than 12 hours and now it rests on Page 3 no-man's-land.

Contrast that with pretty much any of the illegal immigrant/obama is a bozo (can't disagree)/the jack-booted thugs are taking our guns threads... those are up on Page 1 for like 12 days with 800 views.

Don't get me wrong... you can only talk so much about motorcycles, riding, trips, etc.... but can you wonder why folks don't post ride reports???

What's your opinion???

Don't get discouraged.  There are a lot of people, myself included, that actually come to this website to look at and talk about motorcycles.

Let's take this thing back.  Post your pics...tell us bout your rides.

The effort is appreciated.

plus plus plus (is that a size?).   Love the ride reports, wish I could get out and ride somewhere to report myself.

Trying to put a ride together with some friends O ct 21 weekend.  As usual, all sorts of conflicts.

Yes, I know I've only been a part of this forum for a week or so (I got here as soon as I could!). But I look at a ride report as a gift from the author to those who accept that gift.
Don't be discouraged, ptgb. You do the work, put it out there and some happily receive it; those who don't are missing out.
I'm a new Valk owner so no reports to file... yet. Be patient, they're coming. And if only two or three acknowledge them, that's OK. It's a "pay it forward" thing.

One of the things I love about the forums is reading about other people's rides. Finding posts about adventures on highways I  have rode myself or hope to someday ride, really makes me thrilled. These types of posts inspired me to start writing reports about my own rides and with the encouragement of others, making the reports public.

I set up a site(blog) to keep the reports, so the ride reports could be a resource for planning future rides. If anybody would like to post ride reports on the site, drop me a line.

Anyone that has posted about a ride or trip, I thank you. I may not have commented on your post, but they have had a positive impact on me. They are appreciated!

Yep, I love to see parts of the country I've never been and parts that I miss riding in.
I've also noticed ride reports fly by usurped by more, shall I say "polarized" posts  Cool
A plan is in the works out here in Az, to ride north to Utah to see what we will see, so expect pics coming this way next week. Don't forget to peek! cooldude
