Changed the thread title so nobody thinks he is hurt
He left here 330 to go to Newark Airport for an 8pm flight and just got there. He left the car at the terminal not the rental car Avis and thinks he will miss his 8pm flight to Oslo
that is normally a 1 hour drive from here dont know what happened to mess him up
So prayers that the flight gets delayed so he makes it and doesnt lose on his nonrefundable tix

Not that I don't hope he makes his flight and all but for a minute I thought maybe something really bad happened to him. Like life-threatening.

Some people claim God speaks to them, but He told me He doesn't. Thanks for nothing, Oss! I thought the same thing. Poor Dag came all the way here and wiped out on a ride or something. Gah!!!

ASAP was because he was about to get bounced and have to pay 3600 plus the car tow and damage charges
I liked the one about what if one prays for connection and one prays for late
Dag is back here now I will be sure I dont pray for dreamaker by mistake one day since God is so busy
sheeesh
And I would state that the prayers were indeed answered

I personally think god has better things to do than worry about whether or not we miss our flights, like perhaps seeing that the planes in the air make it safely to the ground. But people pray for all kinds of crazy things so that part of it is not that big a deal. I don't second the need to call OSS's breain function into question. But more than anything I think the thread title is irresponsible. I clicked prepared for the worst; that Dag had crashed and was clinging to life only to find out that he was late to the airport. You ask me for prayers ASAP then you'll get them, but it had better be for a damn good reason. I'd just like a little more discretion when deciding how to title something like this in the future.

Now I don't have to wait 8 hours in Oslo for my flight home to Kristiansund I will be home about lunchtime Sunday instead of late Saturday. ...and I didn't have to pay for a new ticket + I returned the car to Avis, so no tow and damage charges.

I knew that Dag was not going to let the situation beat him ! We were all here encouraging him and cheering if not praying But I never doubted that our buddy from Norway would find the silver lining to this dark cloud. And THANK YOU to Oss for letting us all know that a true friend and supporter of the group could use any encouragement we could offer

Wow. That guy can't leave ANYWHERE as planned. I seem to remember him missing a flight not too long ago, and using a lousy excuse like a volcano or something.

Glad to hear it worked out. Have a safe flight, Dag.

I would not presume to know what God thinks a worthy prayer is. I do pray that Dag gets home safely and returns to visit us again in the near future.

??? ??? What happens if one person prays that flight is on time so they can make a connection and another prays it is late so they do not miss flight?? It happens every day - in a war, both (all) sides believe that God (in whatever light they see Him) is on their side. In every sport, in every competition, people are praying for both sides to win. We can make all the requests we want, He'll make His own decisions.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. If Dag was prevented from getting to his flight in time, there must be something he either needed to avoid or something he needed to do before he left.
The main thing is that no one was hurt, only inconvenienced.
Thanks, Oss, for taking the time out of your day to go fetch Dag from the airport. I guess you'll be making the drive again tomorrow?

...and I didn't have to pay for a new ticket + I returned the car to Avis, so no tow and damage charges. Good for you Dag. And now you will have an adventure to talk about when you get home. He left the car at the terminal not the rental car Avis and thinks he will miss his 8pm flight to Oslo . . .
I like this part. I can imagine Dag frantically pulling up in front of the terminal, jumping out of the rental and running through the terminal like OJ did in his rental car commercial. I'm sure TSA got a big laugh also about a biker from Norway running away from a rental car he left out front. And 1+ to you OSS for picking him up and dropping him off again. Well, make that 2+, 1 for each way.

I think many people would be praying to god to please don't let me lose $3600 plus get into a battle with a car rental company. That could send anyone into a funk and his credit rating could suffer and he could lose his security clearance and then his job and then be all distracted one day while cruising to the unemployment agency...

I was thinking of the beginning of Airplane the movie, where Striker parks his cab on a curb in the white zone (with a fare, meter running), and goes off on a trip across the country.

I didn`t get the 1pm flight. I was home 7pm. Almost 9 hours in Oslo waiting for my flight home. I posted that on Facebook, and a VRCC member in Oslo called me and asked if he should pick me up. I had not met him before, only communication on the Norwegian board. He picked me up and we went to his garage where we had a great conversation over a cup of coffee before he drove me to the airport.... VRCC ROCKS

only 9 hours to catch a flight and you LEFT THE AIRPORT AND DROVE AWAY ????
very risky behavior my friend there must not be such traffic jam in Oslo or maybe you just felt without the GPS and no problem to find the rental car drop off that you dare tempt fate again
Glad you finally made it home
Now post those pics and movies !!
