The place was deserted. I'd say the vendors were down 60% and attendance was down 50%. The traffic was tolerable for a change. But there wasn't much to see. And today should have been the peak. And... AND... they were charging $5 to park you bike!!!!! I have never seen that. There were some places that charged in the past, but now EVERYONE is charging. Was never like that when Bush was pres... and the beer girls were prettier back then too.  Wink

I keep hearing it is Bush's fault! If the sun explodes 2000 yrs from now I'm pretty sure Bush did that too. Obama would have stopped it if congress would have let him!   crazy2

Actually, blame the city of Daytona. I know several vendors that have stopped doing Daytona, as the city has doubled and tripled the prices they charge to rent space in the last few years. One vendor that has sold leather goods there for the last 15 years, told me she would not go back. She used to set up next to the  broken spoke saloon, over the last 4 years her fee for the space went from $150 per day to $800 per day. As she said, it does not pay to setup, and give all the profit to the city.

GW Bush had nothing to do with the greed of the city of Daytona Beach. It's quite obvious that you haven't spoken with very many vendors. They have been virtually run out of business due to fees ans many other restrictions.

And the Broken Spoke is on Ridgeway Ave in Bunell FLA.

Yeah, don't blame Obama for the greed of others. Why do you insist on turning your posts into political BS.

The Broken spoke is at

Broken Spoke Saloon
Daytona:

1151 N US Highway 1
Ormond Beach, FL 32174

I was just there today, I'm quite sure I know where I was. I have been there many times in the past.

The political reference was purely to suck in viewers. Because as we all know... ride reports don't draw a crowd...

Notice the  Wink that should be the only clue you should need.

never mind all the political crap,
I wanna know if the Wet T contests were lacking in size and quality.
Pics would help me make that decision.

You think vender permits are expensive there you should see what the charge at Sturgis.  Shocked

Attendance was down this year in the Hills to. Thats to be expected. It was the 71st so not a big anniversary year. What sucked there this year was the big lisc battle between non offical rally stuff and offical rally stuff. The offical stuff sucked this year. No good shirts and no 'I rode Bitch Sturgis 11' patches for Kits vest. But the young bikini bike wash girls were still out in full force with their dangling belly rings and skimpy wear.  cooldude  cooldude My shot girl Jesse was not there this year.  Sad All this would have not been so under GB.  Wink

I caught your funniness in your post and thought it was funny.  Grin

Hey, Jeff.

Which way did you ride in?  I come in the back way from Seminole County on Route 415.  The campground which is part of the Cabbage Patch had a long line of bikes going in there for hours.  In the late afternoon, there was a two mile backup.

The Cabbage Patch specializes in Cole Slaw wrestling, so maybe that was the attraction.  I also saw a near fight at the Marathon station in Osteen.

And the pretty girls.... they were all with me!  Hope you had fun, anyway.

We came in on I4 and took 95 up to Hwy 1. I try to avoid the beach if I don't have a lot of time. We were just there for the day. We used to like going to the Ironhorse area. But it's pretty boring there now.
