I cut my stock windshield down 7 inches this morning. Now all i need is to take it to the local window tinting shop and have them tint it.

Tint will not stick and stay to plastic...If they do it without telling you this then ....  |

Good to know joe. Thanks, wasnt sure if it would or not. Guess i could try some stain for stained glass, that may eat the plastic though. Ill research it some and see if i can figure something out.

Don ( Highbinder ) used a rattle can and painted his black on his Interstate with the trunk removed. It looks sharp I thought I had a picture of it but can't locate it. |

I have a super valk. I found some craft paint that is used to tint model car windows with. Says you can use it on all plastic. Its a transparent acrilic paint.

Wonder how it will handle the elements of weather like sun ,rain etc ? Keep me posted if it works or does'nt  |

Im going to give it a try. If all else fails i get to buy me a real tinted shield. Figure if it works i just saved myself 150 bucks for a new one. And by the way i used a jig saw with a pvc blade, wich is just like sandpaper on the edge. Worked great and left a smooth edge. I also used my sander with 120 grit sandpaper to round the edge and give it a clean look. Ill post some pictures when im all done.

You should check whith Charlie, he has done something pretty neat with his sheild as for tinting. It seems to be holding up nicely. Send him an e-mail I'm sure he'd be glad to help. clane@vdiw.net |

I found some spray used for taillights called race sport nite shades. Sounds like it would work really well for tinting the shield.

Check Home Depot... I think I saw some paint in there selection that was good for plastics/vinyl etc... in a few colors even. Might be worth a shot.

Im going to get some of that vht nite shade and try it. Everyone seems happy withe their tail lights after using it. The only thing they said they needed to do is top it with clear coat to give it a glossy look.

True, ill try the tint stuff because if it works some people my want to tint their stock shields after heating if it works or not
