scoot, love that train! there use to be an old locomotive at the local city park, they took it out scraped off the tons of pigeon crap and renovated it, got it running again, did some train rides with it, and now hasn't been seen from since. that'll be a good monday project for me, find out were that train engine went!

Nice ride and pictures from my favorite state (next to Hoosierland),Scoot. It looks like some of us appreciate good ole iron. Here is a pic (again)that I took of a completely restored 2-8-4 Berkshire that's only a five mile ride from my place. This is a working steam locomotive that was used for excursions this summer. If Mad6Gun (my son) and I put on the ACDC ride we'll try to include this stop next year.

I also love old steam engines!! One of my 'bucket list' hopes would be to find a group near by that's restoring and old engine like in your first photo and join. Then, if I should still be alive by the time the engine is in working order, take a ride on her in the cab either at the controls or even feeding the boiler, lol.

Great train pics, all. There is a outdoor train museum Fair Park in Dallas with a Big Boy as the crown jewel. Old steamers fascinate me.

If you are riding and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

I also love old Steam Engines. My Grandfather had been an Engineer on a Steam Locomotive in Germany after the war, and got me started long ago. Here is a picture that I really like that someone sent me some time agol I have no idea where it is, but I like it, and actually have it as my desktop background.
